ROLE: Assistant Learning Developer
Position Description
Transnational Academic Group, in collaboration with Lancaster University UK, offers British undergraduate, postgraduate, and foundation programs on its Ghana site. We are looking for an experienced, proactive, and energetic individual to build and deliver our academic skills curriculum. Working under the supervision of the teaching and learning developer, your responsibilities will entail, among other things, the following:
- Assisting pupils in improving their academic reading, writing, critical thinking, listening, and note-taking abilities.
- Giving pupils advice and assistance in developing learner skills such as time management and revision tactics.
- Academic skill workshops are being presented.
- Giving students one-on-one consultations through drop-in visits or by appointment; and
- Creating relevant and student-centered tactics and tools to promote academic success and raise the Academic Success Centre’s visibility, both online and through the LUG community.
Required Qualifications or Experience
- A first-year degree in English from a reputed university is required.
- Master’s degree from a reputed academic institution is required.
- A certificate in English language teaching that is internationally recognized, such as Cambridge CELTA or Trinity TESOL.
- A minimum of three years of relevant work experience following a teaching certificate, preferably in a Higher Education Institution (HEI) or in English for Academic Purposes (EAP).
- Relevant expertise in developing teaching and learning materials, as well as delivering academic skills and writing workshops.
- Excellent functional understanding of IT (particularly Office apps) and Internet use
- Excellent management, communication, and presenting abilities
- Strong desire to assist students in reaching their full potential
