POSITION: Key Account Manager

Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology is a business area of the Sandvik Group. It is a major global provider of equipment and tools, service, and technical solutions for the mining industry, including rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading, hauling, and materials handling.

Do you want to get ahead in your job? We are looking for a Key Account Manager to join our West Africa team in Bamako, Mali. This is a great chance. This position reports to the Business Line Manager-Accounts & Applications Management and is in charge of building and keeping long-term ties with key customers in Sales Area in West Africa. You will be responsible for bringing in more money, making sure customers are happy, and finding ways to grow the business within the Sales Area’s key accounts.

Regarding Your Job

Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong connections with your most important customers by learning about their business needs, goals, and challenges.
  • Serve as the main point of contact, giving customers great service and making sure they are happy.
  • Talk to customers often to answer their questions, address their worries, and meet their needs.
  • Build relationships and trust with executives, project managers, and technical teams who are important to the customer’s company.

Account Development and Growth:

  • Find ways to grow business with key accounts by knowing their future needs and making sure they fit with what the company can do.
  • Work with teams inside the company, like sales, engineering, and project management, to come up with custom solutions that meet customers’ wants and make the most money possible.
  • To get new projects or contracts with key clients, you need to write and present convincing proposals, discuss contracts, and close deals.
  • Keep an eye on market trends, what your competitors are doing, and changes in the industry to find new business possibilities.

Project Coordination and Execution:

  • Work closely with project managers and technical teams to make sure that projects for key accounts are done well and meet client standards for quality, timeline, and budget.
  • Serve as a link between the customer and the internal teams, making it easier for people to talk to each other and solve problems.
  • Keep an eye on how the project is going and let customers know about any changes or problems right away.

Client Retention and Satisfaction:

  • Always check how happy your customers are, do customer reviews, and look for ways to improve to keep them for a long time.
  • Resolve customer problems before they happen, ask for feedback, and take the right corrective steps.
  • Do regular business reviews with your most important clients to evaluate performance, find ways to work together, and improve the entire client experience.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of your interactions with customers, the state of your projects, and your revenue forecasts.
  • Make reports and look at key performance indicators (KPIs) for key accounts, giving managers insights and suggestions.
  • Keep an eye on what your rivals are doing, how the market is changing, and what your customers are doing so you can find risks and opportunities.

Other

  • Follow all SMR policies and procedures, especially the SHEQ rules.
  • Any other jobs that the Accounts & Applications Management Business Line Manager may give you.

Your profile

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a similar field. It’s best to have a technical background.
  • At least ten (10) years of experience in a similar job at a multinational company.
  • Experience in a mechanical, electrical, or technological role in mining, building, energy, or other related fields will be looked at favorably.
  • Having knowledge of the LEAN Six Sigma method will be a plus.
  • Strong business sense and a good knowledge of how engineering works.
  • Excellent people skills and communication skills, as well as the ability to build relationships and persuade key players at different levels.
  • Shown success in building and keeping long-term ties with clients and meeting sales goals.
  • They are very good at negotiating, giving presentations, and making proposals.
  • Strong project management and planning skills, as well as the ability to do more than one thing at a time and set priorities well.
  • The ability to understand data and draw useful conclusions from it.
  • Knowledge of CRM software, Microsoft 365 Suite, and other tools that are useful.
  • The ability to speak and write in English at an advanced level is a plus, as is the ability to speak and write in French.
  • Willingness to travel when necessary to meet with customers and go to events in the business.

  • International Driver’s License and Passport That Are Still Valid
  • Able to pass a check of their crime history
