ROLE: Manager of Human Resources.
Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology is a business unit within the Sandvik Group that is a prominent global supplier of mining equipment and tools, as well as service and technical solutions for rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling, and materials handling.
For the Sale Area West Africa, we are looking for an innovative and results-oriented Human Resource Manager. This position is headquartered in Accra, Ghana, and reports to the Vice President of Sales, West Africa.
The Human Resource Manager is a member of the management team and contributes to the formulation of the organization’s business strategy and strategic initiatives. Implement the organization’s human resource strategy so that it attracts, manages, develops, and retains personnel in order to meet current and future business objectives and to drive the occupational Health and Safety, Environmental, and Quality management systems.
Principal Responsibilities
- Contribute to the establishment of the business strategy for the organization. Provide HR expertise and assistance in achieving strategic business goals.
- Develop and ensure the organization’s People Strategy is implemented. Ensure adherence to global policies, local legislation, labor agreements, and so on.
- Evaluate the organization’s future workforce requirements in order to make adjustments to the HR strategy and adapt existing HR programs to suit these requirements.
- Then, Lead, direct, review, and grow a team of HR experts to ensure the HR strategy is properly implemented, under budget, and in accordance with all regulations, laws, and employment standards.
- Other areas of HR can be used to source and facilitate the provision of services.
- Also, Be in charge of the Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental, and Quality management systems.
- Ensure that the various Sandvik sites are certified/recertified to ISO 14001:2015, ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 standards.
- Moreover, Promote staff health and wellness programs.
- HR report preparation encompassing HR activities and trends – Metrics and analytics will be included in reports.
- Employee engagement surveys and quarterly employee reviews are examples of direct HR programs.
- Ensure that all occupational health and safety, environmental, and quality policies, procedures, and processes are followed.
- Ensure that all non-national personnel have the necessary work and residency permits.
- Manage the processes for ensuring local content compliance.
- All organizational communication should be coordinated and facilitated.
- Create policies and procedures for the administration.
Qualification
A university or master’s degree and 10 years of HR experience are required. Mining experience helps. Communication, engagement, and persuasion are your strengths. Proactive, consultative, and business-oriented. You’re used to tight deadlines and shifting priorities abroad. You are analytical, problem-solving, customer, market, and business focused, efficient, and strong at people management. This job demands English and travel because we do business abroad. French is useful.
