Job Description.
- Reports to: Research Associate
- Location: Northern Region of Ghana
- Commitment: 4 months (May-August 2024)

Our present research project investigates the association between income volatility and psychological well-being, and we are devoted to providing thorough support to our study participants.
IPA is looking for a highly motivated and qualified professional with a strong background in mental health services to work as a Mental Health Service Provider on its VIP project. According to the project design, the Mental Health Service Provider will play an important role in ensuring the well-being of research participants throughout the duration of the project, as well as providing confidential counselling support services to individuals experiencing emotional or psychological challenges due to income volatility.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Mental Health Service Provider will be responsible for a number of project-related responsibilities. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Individual therapy sessions with research participants will be conducted via phone calls.
- Participants are given advice on stress management approaches and coping skills over the phone.
- Working with the study team to guarantee the overall well-being of participants.
- Making recommendations for further mental health resources as needed.
- Reporting progress and ultimate results to project partners.
Required Skill or Experience
- Licensed mental health specialists (such as psychologists, social workers, and counsellors).
- Counselling or therapy experience, preferably with a varied population.
- Understanding of trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to retain secrecy while adhering to ethical rules.
- Capability to communicate well in Dabgani, Likpakpaani, Basari, and Nanugli.
- Ability to monitor, track, and document participants’ use of mental health services.
- Ghanaians are particularly urged to apply.
