ROLE: Security Investigator
Company Description
Cardinal Namdini Mining Limited (CNML) is a subsidiary of Shandong Gold Mining Co. Ltd., which is publicly traded on the Shanghai and Hong Kong stock exchanges. CNML is developing its principal asset, which is located in Ghana’s Upper East Region, with the strategic goal of creating a world-leading, highly valued, and responsibly world-class gold mining operation.
Position Description
Community, Social Responsibility, and Security
The Officer (Electronic Security Systems) reports to the Security Manager.
Job Objective
Conduct thorough investigations into security-related occurrences and activities that may endanger CNML operations, personnel, and assets in order to ensure the mine’s safety and security.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Investigate security issues thoroughly, such as thefts, trespassing, vandalism, and breaches.
- Collect evidence, interview witnesses, and analyze data to identify the root cause and responsible parties.
- Collect, maintain, and document physical and digital evidence connected to security incidents in order to ensure its integrity and acceptability in any legal procedures.
- Prepare thorough inquiry reports that include findings, conclusions, and suggested actions.
- Inform the security manager and any relevant stakeholders of your findings.
- Ensure that all investigations and associated activities are conducted in accordance with corporate policy, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Assist in the development and implementation of security policies and procedures to prevent security incidents and breaches.
- When necessary, collaborate with law enforcement, regulatory authorities, and external investigators to settle difficult situations or occurrences.
- Train and advise security staff, employees, and contractors on security issues and best practices.
- Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans for security incidents and threats.
- Conduct risk assessments within the mine to identify vulnerabilities and potential security issues, and then propose mitigation solutions.
- Use surveillance and monitoring technologies to detect suspicious activity and potential security risks. As needed, maintain and operate surveillance equipment.
- Based on the needs of the company, carry out any additional related tasks that the supervisor assigns.
Required Qualifications or Experience
Qualification(s) required
- A bachelor’s degree in the social sciences, criminal justice, security management, or a similar discipline is required.
- Certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) may be beneficial.
Minimum experience required
- Six (6) years of post-qualification experience in the mining industry, security, law enforcement, or investigations is highly desirable.
- Good functional knowledge of Ghanaian laws, regulations, and legal procedures pertaining to investigations, security, and mining
Skills Required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are required to undertake in-depth investigations and examine complicated security challenges.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as written and vocal communication abilities
- Knowledge of surveillance equipment, computer software, and digital forensic tools
- Outstanding organizational abilities
