Job Title: Agronomy & Crop Science Assistant
To help the lead agronomist, we need a scientist who has done in-depth analyses of agronomic data and crop production, has a lot of experience with statistical methods and scientific writing, and knows how to use soil-crop modeling.
Scope of Work
- Do the work under the supervision of the FERARI Crop-Soil Simulation Modeling and Mapping and the FERARI Country Coordinator.
- Critically review, quality control, and analyze field data from agronomic trials.
- Help build a FERARI database system.
- Analyzes fertilizer yield trials using advanced statistical methods and modeling.
- Supervises Master’s students in statistics, modeling, and scientific writing.
- Writes reports and scientific journal articles.
- Travels to Ghana for field visits, teaching, and meetings.
Qualifications and Experience
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in agricultural or crop sciences;
- One to three years of experience in agricultural sciences and practice;
- Knowledge of how to use statistical packages;
- Ability to use theoretical analysis to solve practical problems;
- Good communication skills and the ability to teach.
Location: Accra
