Criteria for selection

  • The scholarship will be given to the applicant who meets the criteria:
  1. Curriculum vitae
  2. Elaborate suggested budget and itinerary, including the names of destinations to be visited, the research purpose, and the date of return to Australia.
  3. Summary of their proposed research (limited to two pages)
  4. Summary of the anticipated benefits for Education in Australia resulting from their research
  5. Compilation of relevant publications (if applicable)
  6. Letter of recommendation from a supervisor
  7. Personal statement highlighting the necessity of international travel and its significance to the applicant’s research.
  • The Scholarship shall be granted to the applicant who is chosen by a selection committee composed of:

The individuals who can serve as the head of the Sydney School of Education and Social Work are:

  1. the Head of School
  2. a senior female lecturer of the Sydney School of Education and Social Work
  3. their nominated delegate(s).

In the event that any of the aforementioned members of the selection committee refuse to fulfill their duties, the remaining members have the authority to designate additional members from the Sydney School of Education and Social Work through a majority vote.

Additional prerequisites

  • The grantee is required to come back to Australia within 3 years of being selected for the Scholarship, or as determined by the Committee.
  • Scholars must retain receipts for a period of one year for all expenses that are pertinent to this Scholarship.
  • Recipients may need to present these receipts upon request from the Sydney School of Education and Social Work.
