Job Description

Country: Ghana

  • Business Results: Responsible for making sure business goals are met by growing PV, MV, and CIF business revenues in designated countries and finding new business opportunities. To reach the goals on a country score card, you need to keep an eye on how clients’ businesses are doing, predict problems, and take charge.
  • Make a contribution to the West Africa strategy.
  • Watch how the banking, financial services, and payments industries change over time, analyze trends, and learn about the things that affect current and future business results.
  • Lead Visa’s strategy in Ghana, working with the government, Central Bank, and regulators.
  • Make sure there are enough controls in place and actively manage external and internal compliance, regulatory, and reputational issues to reduce business, operational, and brand risk.
  • As part of the West Africa Leadership Team, keep track of business development results and progress every month. Reporting every month.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership

  • Reach sales of more than $35 million USD, with expected year-over-year growth
  • Set up a way for the Ghana team to define and carry out a core set of strategic business priorities across the business and help them do it. This will help the business grow in a unique way.
  • Plan and develop long-term investment and revenue plans, such as MSOs, AOPs, etc., in partnership with Finance and other relevant functions.
  • Help others structure and solve business problems by working with a variety of functional stakeholders and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Then, Guide the Visa business through one of the most complicated and highly regulated markets by figuring out how government policies work and taking the right steps to make sure Visa stays competitive.
  • Handle budgets, forecasts, and financial performance. Grow the business by coming up with ways to use Visa’s products and services to meet the business needs of clients. Find metrics and success factors that will help the business grow.
  • Keep an eye on your competitors’ strategies, analyze them, and come up with ways to beat them.
  • Work proactively with regional functions like finance, product, marketing, corporate relations, merchants, digital, compliance, risk, and HR to make sure that each function is aligned with and actively supports the country’s strategic agenda.
  • Provide a way for regional functions and other regions to get feedback on client-related issues. This will help shape and meet client needs and come up with good solutions.

Client Leadership:

  1. Direct line responsibility for client sales.
  2. Work with the mid-market manager to get these clients to bring in more money for the country as a whole.
  3. Watch how the banking, financial services, and payments industries change over time, analyze trends, and learn about the factors that affect Visa’s current and future business results. Change your business plan to protect what you already have and take advantage of new opportunities.
  4. Understand and change how Visa and its competitors’ products are positioned and priced in clients’ product portfolios.
  5. Develop a pipeline of new, different, and innovative products and services that will help the company reach its goals and strategies.

This is a middle ground. Hybrid workers can spend time both at home and at the office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guideline of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification
  • At least 12 years of experience in the business world, preferably in payments
  • Good presentation and communication skills, both in writing and in person.
  • Experience working with clients and key stakeholders, ideally including banks, large retailers, multinational companies, governments, local partners, and so on.
  • Must have a strong background in banking, financial services, mobile networks, fintechs, or the government, and must have worked with card payments.
  • Knows a lot about Visa, other payment systems, card products, and what different payment systems do in the markets that matter.
  • Able to handle different indirect reporting relationships at all levels of the Visa and Client organization
  • Sales Experience.
