Exciting Career Opportunity at EduSpots

POSITION: Head Of Programmes

Company Profile

EduSpots is a registered charity in the UK and Ghana that connects, trains, and equips volunteer community educators to create transformative literacy and STEM opportunities through education spaces known as ‘Spots’, with a focus on female empowerment and environmental action. Together, we are building a movement of community-based changemakers.

Since 2016, we have worked extensively with over 250 local volunteers to support 50 communities in building and operating community-led and owned education spaces known as ‘Spots’, with a strategy to help them transition to our ‘Dream Spot Model’. We are building a paradigm for a community-led education environment with network interaction that could have global applicability.

Our 16-person Ghanaian team, who work entirely part-time and remotely, creates collaborative learning opportunities through our Ignite and Community Leadership in Development (CLEd) Programmes, which include leadership training for our EduLit, EduSTEM, EduKidz, and Ignite Girls clubs, as well as locally designed education projects, reaching over 15,000 students of all ages each year. Read our 2022 Impact Report here.

We are at an exciting stage in our development. We won the Tes International Award in 2018, the Big Give Supporters’ Choice Award in 2022, and were just named a finalist for the Their World Scale-Up Innovation Prize. In 2021, our Founder was a finalist for The Varkey Foundation’s $1 million Global Teacher Prize, which was sponsored by UNESCO, in part because of her involvement in founding EduSpots.

We are thrilled about our future. Please visit www.eduspots.org for further details.
