ROLE: Leadership Programmes Coordinator

About this role

This part-time post will develop and deliver the leadership strand (one of five) of our 2023 Ignite Programme, which is crucial to the EduSpots model. You will collaborate with our Regional Coordinators and Head of Operations to identify critical gaps across our 50 spots and create a leadership program to empower our 250+ volunteers to implement solutions.

We need an entrepreneurial and creative leader with a passion for leadership and a broad understanding of team building, community engagement, safeguarding, communication, fundraising, and social entrepreneurship to empower Spot volunteers to lead change at their Spots and grow as leaders.

This dynamic and energizing leader would administer our WhatsApp leadership hub for volunteers, hosting monthly Zoom sessions with guest speakers and delivering a variety of leadership materials and debates.

Main duties

  • Work together with regional coordinators to build and present Ignite’s Spot Leadership curriculum.
  • Manage a monthly Zoom session on Spot leadership, including inviting skilled guest speakers.
  • After analyzing the needs of Regional Coordinators, build interesting and novel monthly Spot leadership challenges.
  • Work with regional coordinators to provide input on challenge marking, scoring, leadership points, and certification.
  • To manage WhatsApp strand engagement with regional coordinators to develop core leadership skills and build a leadership community.
  • Develop instructional resources for funding, safeguarding, information gathering, and other areas with the Head of Operations and regional coordinators.
  • Support the Catalyse Leadership Programme, particularly the educational material, by collaborating with the Programmes Manager and Education & Research Manager on
  • Project design and delivery.
  • To monitor and evaluate Spot Leadership with all stakeholders.
  • Provide regular Spot leadership strand updates and tales for funding applications and communications.
  • To ensure Spot leadership program participants always respect child protection and safeguarding standards.
  • To do all other job-related activities as needed to support the organization.
  • To follow the Staff & Volunteers Handbook and any related policies and procedures at all times.

Essential Skills or Experience

  • Experience in supporting or leading education resource design and program development and management
  • A great trainer who inspires volunteers and staff with excellent pedagogy.
  • Various online educational delivering experience.
  • WhatsApp management and online community development experience.
  • Experience implementing educational reform using volunteers.
  • Home-based, online work experience

Personality and Skills

  • Passionate in leadership development, social entrepreneurship, community participation, teamwork, communication, and education.
  • Ability to inspire and interact via WhatsApp and Zoom, with good network management and engagement skills.
  • Good design abilities and Canva design ability to interact with volunteers.
  • IT expertise, including Google Suite use
  • A proactive, self-motivated worker who can do well with minimal supervision.
  • A team player who values collaborative learning.
  • Excellent written and vocal communication skills that inspire.
  • Work well under pressure, prioritize, and fulfill deadlines.
  • Effectively responding to feedback and seeking improvement.
  • Adaptable and changeable.
  • A strong personal connection with EduSpots’ purpose, vision, and values; a passion for educational justice and community-led development; and the capacity to collaborate with grassroots volunteers from varied backgrounds.
