Position: Field Engineer
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Field Engineer, in Ghana will be in charge of managing the equipment utilized for the fuel marking operation in Ghana (and will be based there). In addition, when directed by the Program Instrumentation Manager, the Field Engineer will assist with any additional programs or opportunities internationally. The purpose of this position is to perform routine instrument maintenance and to ensure that contractually agreed-upon quantities of instrumentation are available to the client and our partners.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS SUMMARY

- Travel inside Ghana and on occasion internationally to accomplish the business’s objectives of installing and maintaining instrumentation.
- Local partners and customer staff must be trained.
- Conduct routine maintenance and reactive repair visits to mobile or permanent laboratories, as well as other types of facilities.
- Conduct audits as needed.
- Concentrate on constant improvement.
- Cooperate closely and adaptably with internal and external clients.
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND KNOWLEDGE
To be successful in this position, an employee must be able to do each important role adequately. The criteria stated below indicate the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to execute the essential responsibilities of this job competently.
- 5 years of experience working with technology (IT, science, engineering, or chemistry)
- BS in Science or Engineering
- Expertise in Windows software troubleshooting
- Experience with laboratory analytical equipment use and basic maintenance
- Possess the capacity to independently undertake moderate to complicated troubleshooting tasks on diverse lab apparatus while adhering to specified protocols.
- Excellent mechanical ability
- Basic knowledge of software troubleshooting
- Ability to apply complicated analytical skills and make judgments in accordance with established business requirements
great written and verbal communication skills; great customer service skills - Detail-oriented and organized, with great initiative and a sense of ownership in all elements of the job. Comfortable and flexible to travel worldwide if necessary.
EXTRA REQUIREMENTS
Due to the nature of the work, this position is not a typical Monday through Friday, 9 to 5 employment; work may be necessary in the evenings and on weekends on occasion.
It is possible that some weekends or evenings will necessitate travel.
There will be some travel, and candidates should have no hurdles or impairments to traveling by air, road, train, or sea.
