Job Title: Marine CCR Technician
Core Responsibilities
- Makes sure that all of the equipment used to keep an eye on cargo is working properly.
- Makes sure that all the right navigational tools, like the CAR system, VHF, AIS, etc., are working well.
- When on shift, checks the stability of the FPSO in terms of stability, trim, stress, and bending moments.
- When on shift, he or she puts the cargo and ballast plan into action.
- When on shift, manages the release of waste water according to a plan that has been set.
- Maintains an effective Radar/AIS and VHF watch, as required by ISPS, to keep an eye on all vessels in the area.
- Provides the helicopter pilot with information needed for landing and taking off, such as weather updates, and works closely with the HLO while the helicopter is in operation. Acts as a flight keeper for helicopter operations until handover to shore base Ops.
- Shares information with the helicopter’s base on the ground, such as passenger names, weights, cargo, the weather, and flight times.
- Assists Marine Technician with tank washing and gas freeing operations as “responsible person”.
- Make sure that the offtake equipment and machines, like the IG system, the offtake meter and prover, and the cargo pumps, are working well.
- Makes sure that all of the communication equipment is working well.
- Checking the cargo and hydraulic lines on a regular basis.
- When asked, acts as the helicopter’s deck crew.
- Make sure GMDSS equipment tests are done in accordance with SOLAS.
- Make sure that all of the marine communication equipment works well.
- Help with maintenance tasks like weekly, monthly, and periodic checks of all life-saving and fire-fighting equipment (FFA).
Qualifications
- B.Sc. in Nautical Science or an equivalent background in Marine Operations
Certification(s):
- Minimum 2nd Mates Certificate of Competence or higher with Tanker Endorsement GMDSS Operators Certificate.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- A valid HLO or helideck crew certificate is preferred, but not a must.
Experience:
- +5 years of experience working on oil and product carriers
- Operating experience on an FPSO or similar facility is preferred, as is a deep understanding of tanker operations, such as how to clean crude oil, use inert gas systems, and keep the ship safe.
- It’s best to have experience with safety management systems.
- It is best to have experience docking and unmooring large ships at offshore moorings.
