Entrance Scholarships for New and Entering Students
All applicants who apply for full-time study at the university based on an OSSD and who have never attended a post-secondary institution before (i.e., have no prior post-secondary experience) are automatically eligible for the Brock Entrance Scholars Award. Subject to financial availability, entrance grants are given out based on the six grade 12 U or M courses that determine the student’s final admission GPA.
The Senate Committee on Undergraduate Student Affairs sets the minimum average needed to award scholarships each year. The reward notification that comes with the admission offer is subject to change depending on the final admission average.
Brock Entrance Scholars Award
Given to new students who have never attended a post-secondary institution. Based on secondary school grades available at the time of acceptance, initial offers are given. When final grades are turned in, the offers are examined, and if the final average moves into a different category, they will be changed. For entrance in 2023, the scholarship values are:
- $7,600 (renewable $1,900 per year**) for averages 90.0 percent – 94.9 percent and
- $13,600 (renewable $3,400 per year**) for an average of 95.0 percent+
- $3,600 (renewable $190 annually**) for 85.0 percent to 89.9 percent averages
- $1,600 (extendable by $400 annually) for averages between 80.0 and 84.9 percent
Renewals are contingent on reaching every milestone for 5.0 credits. To renew, an 80.0% average is needed. Whether the scholarship was renewed or not the year before is irrelevant; eligibility for renewal is evaluated after every 5.0 credit milestone.
