- The proposals must be collaboratively submitted by a candidate, a supervisor (promoter) from Ghent University, and a supervisor from the partner university (South).
- No constraints are placed on the research subject; however, preference will be accorded to issues pertinent to the North-South context.
- Only degree-seeking students (those aiming to attain a combined PhD degree at Ghent University) are eligible to apply. Exchange students are ineligible to apply for this grant.
- This program is designed for students commencing their PhD studies. PhD students are permitted, to a limited degree, to have conducted exploratory research. At the commencement of the fellowship (1/10/2025), a minimum of 36 months of doctoral research must remain to fulfill the PhD requirements;
- Ghent University aims to promote increased applications from female researchers for this award. A supervisor at Ghent University may support a maximum of two candidates every call, provided they are of different genders. The postal communication must pertain to the scholarship’s aims.
