Qualifications for the 2025 Bi Presidential Scholarship:

  • To be considered, candidates must have at least a “A” overall GPA on the ECTS scale or the highest possible grade on foreign grading scales.
  • Applicants must be in their third year of the Sivøk program.
    Candidates with international citizenship from the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, or Norwegian citizenship.
  • Depending on their residency status, citizens of non-EU/EEA nations who reside in Norway may be eligible. To ascertain eligibility, please refer to the list on this page. Include proof of residency with your scholarship application letter if you fit this description.
  • In the spring of the application year, international applicants (of all citizenships) who relocated to Norway for their undergraduate studies will finish their 180-credit bachelor’s degree in Norway. Applicants from outside the EU or EEA must not take a sabbatical between finishing their bachelor’s degree and starting their master’s program.
  • Applicants accepted into a Master of Science program at the Bergen or Oslo campuses, with the exception of the BI-Luiss Joint Masters in Marketing program.

Note: This fellowship is not available to foreign applicants who are not residents of Norway and have citizenship from outside the EU, EEA, or Switzerland.

  • For master’s degree programs, BI offers a significant scholarship program. But there is fierce competition for scholarships. Every year, master’s degree applicants submit considerably more scholarship applications than there are funds available.
  • The goal of BI Norwegian Business School is to attract a multicultural and global student group.
  • Only candidates who have been accepted into a Master of Science program and who followed the application guidelines will be taken into account.
  • Only those who have accepted the offer of admission will have their scholarship applications taken into consideration.
  • All MSc programs receive scholarships, thanks to BI.
  • In accordance with institutional interests, such as giving preference to particular master’s programs, diversity and gender distribution, or particular BI partner schools, BI retains the ability to grant scholarships.
  • Every applicant will undergo evaluation using the ECTS scale. Candidates having bachelor’s degrees from other countries will have their grades transferred to the ECTS system.
  • Additional academic accomplishments, GMAT, GRE, or CAT scores, extracurricular activities, and noteworthy personal accomplishments could all have an impact in the awarding process.
  • The MSc International Scholarship is open to international candidates who apply for the BI Presidential Scholarship.

How can you submit an application for the 2025 Bi Presidential Scholarship?

  • Only third-year Sivøk applicants are eligible to apply for scholarships by email (see below).

  • In no more than one page, write a letter of application for the scholarship explaining your qualifications. Academic excellence, not financial need, is the basis for scholarship awards.
  • Add it to the “Scholarship” part of your online admissions application.
  • Incorporate all the necessary paperwork to be considered for admission to a Master of Science program. A comprehensive application for admission and acceptance of the admission offer are prerequisites for consideration of the scholarship application.
  • In the spring of their third year, BI students enrolled in the Siviløkonom program may apply by sending a letter of application for the scholarship to info@bi.no with the subject line: BI Presidential Scholarship Application.
  • The MSc International Scholarship is open to international candidates who apply for the BI Presidential Scholarship. There is no need for a separate letter of application for a scholarship.

Deadline for Applications

March 1 is the deadline for scholarship applications.

Both domestic and foreign applicants: The online application portal requires that you upload your whole admissions application, including your scholarship application. We do not accept applications for scholarships by email.

Third-year Siviløkonom students: The required email address for scholarship application letters is info@bi.no.

Late applications won’t be taken into account.
