Study In China: Shandong University Undergraduate Preparatory Scholarship 2024

Shandong University (SDU) is pleased to introduce its Undergraduate Preparatory Scholarship Program for 2024, which aims to equip international high school graduates with the necessary skills and knowledge for their future undergraduate studies. This curriculum provides an extensive training period of six months to one year, focusing on improving Chinese language skills and establishing a strong academic base. The curriculum encompasses Chinese language classes, essential groundwork for the major, specialized training in professional Chinese language skills, and the cultivation of proficiency in the HSK exam, guaranteeing students are adequately prepared for their future academic pursuits.

The program is available to individuals who are not Chinese citizens, possess good physical health, and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent. For the one-year program commencing in September 2024, there is no need to have any previous knowledge of the Chinese language. However, for the one-semester program beginning in February 2025, it is necessary to have an HSK 3 certificate.

Various scholarships, such as the Chinese Government Scholarship, Shandong University Scholarship, and the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship, are offered to exceptional and high-achieving students. The one-year program accepts applications from March 15, 2024, to June 30, 2024, while the one-semester program accepts applications from October 15, 2024, to December 31, 2024.

The Shandong University 2024 Undergraduate Preparatory Scholarship in China is open to students who wish to pursue undergraduate studies at Shandong University.

Requirements for Shandong University 2024 Undergraduate Preparatory Scholarship:

1. Qualification

• Eligible candidates must be international students who are in a state of sound physical and mental well-being.
• Applicants must exhibit a favorable disposition towards China and possess a valid passport issued by their country of origin.
• Applicants are required to possess a criminal record that is free of any convictions.
• Applicants are required to have a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification.

2. Linguistic prerequisites

• Prospective students for the September 2024 full academic year program are not required to have any prior proficiency in the Chinese language.
• Applicants for the February 2025 one-semester program are required to provide an official HSK Level 3 certificate with a score of at least 180.

3. Adherence

• This program complies with the regulations specified in the Ministry of Education’s Notice on Regulating Admission of International Students in China’s Higher Education Institutions.

Applying to SDU:

• Go Online: Submit your application electronically through the SDU Online Application System for International Students. Fill out the information and submit the relevant papers. Paper applications are not accepted.

Deadline for submitting applications:

• The One-Year Program will take place from September 2024 to July 2025. Applications will be accepted from March 15, 2024 until June 30, 2024.
• The One-Semester Program will take place from February 2025 to July 2025. Applications for this program can be submitted between October 15, 2024 and December 31, 2024.

As soon as the deadline has passed, the application system will close. In order to avoid problems at the eleventh hour, you should make it a priority to submit your application at least two weeks before the deadline.
