Study In Australia: Flinders University International Postgraduate Scholarship 2024

The Flinders International Research Award (FIPRS) 2024 is an esteemed award aimed at assisting overseas students by fully covering their international tuition fees and offering a stipend. Nevertheless, the quantity of scholarships offered is restricted, with just 5 scholarships available in 2022, resulting in a highly competitive selection procedure.

The FIPRS is granted to individuals who have outstanding ability for self-directed investigation, scholarly distinction, research instruction, and performance measures. The scholarship can be held for a maximum of three years for a Research Doctorate and a maximum of two years for a Research Master’s degree.

Applicants who are accepted must be starting their first higher degree by research in Australia and must commit to studying full-time. CRITICAL APPLICATION DETAILS

Prior to submitting an application, it is mandatory for all candidates to thoroughly review the application instructions provided below. Utilize the application checklist to assist you in submitting your application.

Applications that are not fully completed will be rejected.

In order to guarantee that your application is comprehensive and has a strong chance of success, please carefully review and address the following points:

Supervisor of Research

To proceed, you must establish communication with a faculty member in your specific academic field and obtain their consent to oversee your progress upon achieving success. Please ensure that you send email documentation demonstrating the supervisor’s consent along with your application. Applicants lacking a supervisor during the application process will not be eligible for an AGRTPS/FIPRS.

Publications

To be considered, you must submit up to five of your publications, each accompanied by a completed coversheet. Publications submitted without coversheets will not be taken into account. Publications serve as a means to assess the caliber of your prior research in the specific field you plan to pursue at Flinders University.

Applicants who have published more than five articles should seek guidance from their Flinders University supervisor to determine the most suitable five publications. Provide a concise explanation for the selection of these five options. Limit the number of publications to a maximum of five. You may include any other publications on your CV or in a separate list. Coversheets are unnecessary for publications that are mentioned on the CV but are not included in the top five.

Publications must not exceed a maximum age of 5 years.

Generally, it is advisable to limit the selection of publications to those written in English, specifically choosing the top five. Publications in languages other than English will only be approved if the nature of the publication, such as a report to a government agency, requires the use of another language.

Applicants who have not published are unlikely to be competitive in the extremely competitive international scholarship stage.

Academic Transcripts

Applicants are required to submit certified copies of all academic transcripts from universities, which should be translated into English. Please refrain from submitting secondary school certificates or any non-educational credentials or awards.

Proposal for Research

A research proposal of approximately 500 words is required. It should clearly outline the problem, hypothesis, or question, as well as the methodology or strategy to be used.

Academic referee reports

Fill out Section A of two Academic Referee’s Confidential Report forms and send them to two suitable referees of your choosing. Ideally, the referees should possess a well-informed, subjective, and expert understanding of your academic aptitude and be capable of evaluating your potential for research. Please submit the Academic Referee reports to rhdscholarships@flinders.edu.au before the deadline.

Curriculum Vitae

Please ensure that your application includes an updated curriculum vitae (CV) that clearly presents your professional experience, research experience, and a comprehensive list of cited publications.

Format & Language

It is mandatory to upload all documents through the application portal, and they must be in English. Kindly convert the document to a PDF format and ensure that it is scanned and saved in the appropriate alignment. Please ensure that all documents are labeled with your surname and the specific document name. For instance, use the format “surname_documentname” such as “surname_Transcript” or “surname_publication1”.
