Study In Germany: CAS-DAAD Joint Fellowship Programme 2024
The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) are pleased to announce the ongoing partnership of their joint fellowship program, which aims to promote collaboration and academic exchange between China and Germany.
The CAS-DAAD Joint Fellowship Programme, established in 2007, offers talented young Chinese scientists from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) and CAS research institutes the exclusive chance to conduct research in Germany for a period of 12 to 22 months.
This program is specifically tailored for individuals who are currently pursuing doctoral degrees in China. The fellowship program offers successful applicants the opportunity to do research at prestigious German institutions of higher education or research enterprises, except Max-Planck or Fraunhofer institutes.
The fellowship entails a monthly stipend of €1,350 from UCAS in the initial year and €1,200 from DAAD in the subsequent year, in addition to extensive coverage for health, accidents, and personal liability insurance. In addition, a one-time payment for travel expenses will be given to assist the candidates in making their trip arrangements.
The fellowship program’s selection process includes inviting candidates for interviews in Beijing in March of the following year. A selection committee consisting of specialists from both CAS and DAAD will supervise the selection process, guaranteeing the selection of the most deserving candidates for this distinguished opportunity. Prospective applicants are advised to access [Link to Application Portal] for further details regarding application prerequisites and processes.

What are the reasons to pursue education in Germany?
Low or non-existent tuition fees
One of the major advantages of studying in Germany is that the majority of university courses do not impose tuition fees. Compared to numerous other countries, where high tuition fees can discourage students from attending college or burden them with significant debt, this is a significant benefit. Students have more autonomy in choosing their universities and courses when they are not encumbered by excessively high tuition fees. The competition for admission to famous colleges is sometimes intense because of the high quality of education, diverse choice of degree programs, and lack of tuition fees.
Universities with the highest rankings
German universities are widely recognized for their rigorous academic standards and are highly regarded for their exceptional teaching, hands-on training, diverse academic opportunities, and welcoming atmosphere. In 2018, Germany had a total of 429 public higher education institutions, with 106 of them being universities.
Multiple academic programs at the university
Germany has a plethora of educational institutions that offer a diverse array of degree programs for students. Engineering is highly valued in Germany and is taught in its universities. German colleges are globally acclaimed for their excellence in these fields and also provide courses in pharmacy and medicine.
