Academic Courses and Performance

  • Please provide a detailed list of your high school courses and corresponding grades as they are recorded on your official transcript. Additionally, include your ACT/SAT scores.
  • If you decide to submit your scores, please include your highest scores for the ACT composite and/or the SAT total without considering super-scoring. Additionally, include the highest sub-scores you achieved in each category, regardless of the test date.

The TOEFL iBT, IELTS, and Duolingo English Test are standardized exams used to assess proficiency in the English language.

  • When considering these scores, it is necessary to record your top TOEFL iBT (excluding the MyBest score), IELTS, or Duolingo English Test score, as well as your highest sub-scores, regardless of the test date.

3. Remit the application money.

  • Upon submission of the application, you will be required to make a nonrefundable payment using a credit card. If you are a domestic student who meets the criteria for a fee waiver, your guidance counselor must submit our fee waiver form. For your application to be deemed complete, we must receive a payment or a form requesting a waiver of the charge within the specified dates.

Academic assignments and academic performance:

The following are the types of courses that must be completed during high school, along with the required duration for each course. It is advisable to strive for consistently high grades in these courses.

  • English: A minimum of four years is mandatory.
  • Math: A minimum of 3 or 3.5 years is necessary, while it is advised to complete 4 years of math.
  • The minimum need for social sciences is 2 years, however, it is suggested to study for 4 years.
  • For laboratory sciences, a minimum of 2 years is necessary, but it is preferable to have 4 years of experience.
  • Non-English language: 2 years mandatory; 4 years advisable
  • Minimum academic units required: 2 years. It is advised to complete 4 or more years of academic units.
  • Assessment Results: ACT/SAT (if available) They can also influence scholarship and assistance determinations.
  • Achieving a high score in the TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo English Test may be necessary or highly advisable to showcase proficiency in the English language.

Scholarships offered by the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign

1. Federal Scholarship

This scholarship provides complete coverage for either tuition and fees or room and board expenses. The book allowance is $600 every semester, and the monthly stipend for subsistence is $420 per month for 10 months during the academic year. This stipend is structured in tiers based on academic class. Upon accepting the scholarship, you must sign a contract for military duty.

To obtain the Military Science courses, you must register for them. In order to be granted the courses, you need to have a minimum GPA of 2.5. Also, to continue having access to the courses, you must have a GPA of at least 2.0. First-year student Applicants are required to have a minimum score of 19 on the ACT or a minimum score of 920 on the SAT.

2. The GRFD (Guaranteed Reserve Forces Duty) Scholarship

This scholarship provides complete coverage for either tuition and fees or room and board. The book allowance is $600 per semester, and the monthly stipend for subsistence is $420 per month for 10 months per academic year. This stipend is structured in tiers based on academic class. You also receive E-5 Drill pay. Upon receiving the scholarship, you must sign a contract for Reserve or National Guard duty.

To clarify, you are required to be a third-year student (Junior) in the MS program, unless you are a committed GRFD applicant, in which case you can be a second-year student (Sophomore). However, to be eligible, it is required that you are a member of the Reserves or National Guard, or that you are willing to engage in the Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP). To keep the scholarship, a cadet must uphold a GPA of at least 2.5.

3. The Illinois State Tuition Waiver

This tuition waiver specifically covers the entire cost of tuition and nothing else. There is no obligation to join the military until the start of your third year of college unless you have signed a contract. To obtain the scholarship, you must meet the following criteria: be a resident of Illinois, enroll in the Military Science courses, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (3.0 for entering Freshmen based on high school GPA), and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 and an ROTC cumulative GPA of 3.0 to keep the scholarship. Enrollment at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign requires you to be a student, and your academic progress will be assessed on a semesterly basis.

4. Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship provides complete coverage for either tuition and fees or room and board expenses. The allowance for books is $1200 every semester, and there is a stipend of $420 per month for subsistence throughout the entire 10-month academic year. This stipend is structured in tiers based on academic class. Upon accepting the scholarship, you must sign a contract for military duty.
