2024/2025 University of Ottawa International Student Scholarships
The University of Ottawa, located in Canada, is happy to announce that applications for its foreign scholarships are now being accepted for the 2024–2025 academic year. The institution is the biggest bilingual (French and English) university in the world. Because of the university’s advancements in the humanities, science, engineering, health, and social sciences, uOttawa is a special location to study, develop, and succeed.
Among the nation’s most generous scholarship programs is the University of Ottawa’s. Whereas bursaries are given out based on financial need, scholarships are given out for academic performance.
DETAILS
1. International Students’ President’s Scholarship:
One full-time international undergraduate student will receive the prize. This $30,000 scholarship is among the most esteemed offerings at the University of Ottawa.
A student visa must be obtained, there is a minimum entrance average required, and applicants must have leadership abilities and a dedication to both academics and extracurricular activities. For the next three years, the scholarship may be renewed if the student maintains full-time enrollment, international student status, and a minimum cumulative grade point average of 8.50. The university also gives the runners-up, third, and fourth-place applicants a one-time prize of $1,500.
2. International Students’ Chancellor’s Scholarship:
One of the university’s most coveted awards, the Chancellor’s Scholarship, is given to full-time overseas undergraduate students and is worth $26,000. During the final three years of their undergraduate education, students have the option to extend their scholarship. In addition to possessing a student visa, the applicant must exhibit leadership qualities and a dedication to both academics and extracurriculars. The university also gives the runners-up, third-, and fourth-place applicants a one-time prize of $1,500.
3. Dean’s Merit Scholarship, Faculty of Arts
These four thousand-dollar renewable scholarships are awarded by the Faculty of Arts. The university’s Faculty of Arts undergraduate programs must accept eligible students who are enrolled full-time and for the first time. If the student maintains full-time enrollment in the Faculty of Arts and ends each term with a cumulative grade point average of 9.00 or above, the scholarship will be renewed. For this scholarship, there is no application needed. The summer before the applicant’s studies is when the scholarship is given out.
4. The Dean’s Merit Scholarship for the Engineering Faculty
The Faculty of Engineering awards 35 of these scholarships to deserving students with outstanding academic records. Up to $5,000 can be awarded as a scholarship. The candidate must be enrolled full-time in the Faculty of Engineering’s undergraduate program for the first time.
There is no need to apply for this scholarship; all qualified students, even those studying abroad, will be given automatic consideration.
5. Memorial Scholarship from the Faculty of Engineering

About the University of Ottawa
The largest bilingual (English-French) university in the world is the University of Ottawa. Situated in the center of Canada’s capital, we enjoy easy access to all of the major national institutions.
The Oblates of Mary Immaculate established the College of Bytown in 1848 as a multilingual Catholic institution, with instruction offered in both French and English from the first.
The newly renamed College of Ottawa was granted a pontifical charter in 1889, and in 1866 it was granted a royal charter, making it a university. The University was sponsored by the province when the Oblates gave up control of it in 1965. It is now a secular university.
