University of St. Thomas admissions without application fee for 2024–25

St. Thomas is a comprehensive institution with undergraduate and graduate programs spread over eight schools and colleges.

Concerning University of St. Thomas

With more than 9,000 undergraduate and graduate students spread across its eight schools and colleges, the University of St. Thomas is the largest private university in Minnesota and among the biggest Catholic colleges or universities in the country.

Thanks to the Schulze School of Entrepreneurship, we are in the top 20 of The Princeton Review’s list of “undergraduate entrepreneurship programs” and are recognized as a “top national university” and “best value school” by U.S. News & World Report.

The 2,000-year-old Catholic intellectual tradition, which unites faith and reason to explore the world, served as the model for our founding. Our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) is rooted in our Catholic identity. Our principles drive us to uphold and defend the dignity of every person and to strive toward a more just and equitable society. Future leaders of all faiths who want to have a positive impact on the world are developed at the University of St. Thomas.

St. Thomas, which draws its inspiration from the Catholic intellectual tradition, prepares its students to be morally upright leaders who can reason critically, make prudent decisions, and work deftly to further the common good. As a community, we are dedicated to upholding the following values: the search for the truth, scholastic achievement, faith and reason, respect for diversity, individual attention, and thankfulness.

Our community is dedicated to promoting and modeling an inclusive, equitable, and varied atmosphere. We think that each of us has a responsibility to uphold and defend human dignity. That’s what it means to have the common good at heart.

Residency on a Campus

Living on campus is the ideal method for newcomers to integrate into the St. Thomas community. When someone lives directly down the hall, getting to know them is simple. You can always find a companion for events like games, concerts, dinners, and activities.

We assist you in creating a homey atmosphere when you reside here.

Get Involved

Although education is the primary focus of a college experience, St. Thomas offers much more than just academic pursuits. There are 140 student groups just waiting for you to become a member. A strollable neighborhood with a row of stores and cafes is just waiting to be discovered.

Assistance and Welfare

We believe in providing individual attention. To assist you in developing a productive and healthy lifestyle, our Center for Well-Being offers a comprehensive range of physical and mental health resources.

University Ministry

With its roots in the Catholic intellectual tradition, St. Thomas is open to students of all religions. We want students to respect their various religious traditions and to investigate and develop their religion.

Employment Services

We are here to support you as you proceed along your career path. We offer customized career development services and tools to support your job search, coaching, internships, resumes, and interviews.

Programs offered:

With more than 150 undergraduate majors and minors and more than 55 graduate programs, St. Thomas’ academic offerings are diverse. We have more qualified teachers in the classroom—all of our undergrad classes are taught entirely by faculty members, not teaching assistants. The faculty at St. Thomas is made up of devoted, seasoned mentors who teach theory as well as practical application through our degree-specific courses and core curriculum.

Building skills in communication, sophisticated problem-solving, cultural competency, global perspectives, and entrepreneurship are all part of our program.

With fewer students in each class (the average is 21), the lecturer will know your name and be available to answer any queries you may have. St. Thomas is committed to its students’ academic and personal achievement, and it supports them through the Center for Well-Being, the Center for Student Achievement, and other hardworking teams.

Both on campus and in the community, students can learn by doing; academic learning encompasses study abroad options as well as extracurricular activities. Over 71% of undergraduates have real-world internships, and many work with professors on research projects. Our graduate students use their degrees, certificates, and courses to advance in their professions.
