University of Ottawa Scholarships 2024

The largest bilingual (French and English) university in the world, the University of Ottawa (Canada), is pleased to announce that applications for its foreign scholarships are now being accepted for the 2024–2025 academic year. Ottawa is a unique place to study, develop, and succeed because of its advancements in the humanities, science, engineering, health, and social sciences.

The University of Ottawa has one of the most substantial scholarship programs in the country; unlike bursaries, which are awarded based on financial need, scholarships are awarded based on academic success.

About the University of Ottawa

The largest bilingual (English-French) university in the world is the University of Ottawa. Situated in the center of Canada’s capital, we enjoy easy access to all of the major national institutions.

The Oblates of Mary Immaculate established the College of Bytown in 1848 as a multilingual Catholic institution, with instruction offered in both French and English from the first.

The newly renamed College of Ottawa was granted a pontifical charter in 1889, and in 1866 it was granted a royal charter, making it a university. The University was sponsored by the province when the Oblates gave up control of it in 1965. It is now a secular university.

Reasons to Choose Ottawa University

We provide the environment, know-how, resources, and technology necessary to expand your knowledge and enable you to reach your full potential. Join a group of fearless, compassionate, and involved individuals who share your values to create a more just and sustainable society.

Ottawa City

The city of Ottawa is a wonderful place to be. In addition to being the nation’s capital, there are enjoyable shopping destinations, low crime rates, and less expensive housing than in other large cities like Toronto or Vancouver. Fortunately, the University of Ottawa campus is in an ideal location. There are beautiful trails, bike routes, and a beautiful landscape all around it.

Students may easily access the downtown area, which includes restaurants, shopping malls, and nightlife, with just a 5-minute walk. Take some pals to the Rideau Canal if you ever need a vacation from studying! The 202-kilometer canal, which links Lake Ontario and the city of Ottawa, is open for skating in the winter and canoeing and boat rides in the summer, making it the ideal place to take a break from school life.

You can travel to Quebec from here!

There’s also the added benefit of being in Ottawa, which is only a fifteen-minute drive from Gatineau, Quebec. For all the students who love to party or have late birthdays, this is a wonderful thing. The legal drinking age in Quebec is 18 rather than 19, which makes its rules slightly different from those in Ontario. Despite being in Quebec and situated near the Ontario border, the city offers a plethora of English-language bars, restaurants, and clubs for your entertainment. It’s permissible for first-year students to consume alcohol and partake in the nightlife.

The transit system functions as intended.

Whether you reside on campus or off, the University of Ottawa transit system is incredibly helpful to students. Students on campus find it simple to commute to school and to the city center thanks to the regular buses that travel directly from downtown to the campus and around the city. Additionally, buses start and end early, so you can go out clubbing after your 10 p.m. lab and never miss your 8:30 a.m. lectures.

They offer the best scholarships around.

Several outstanding scholarships are available at uOttawa to help defray the expense of tuition, which can be quite burdensome for students paying for themselves or for families with low to moderate incomes. You can get a $1000-$4000 scholarship, renewable annually, just for being accepted! You will get $1000 if your top-6 average is between 80 and 84%. Achieve $2000 with 85-89%, $3000 with 90-94%, and $4000 with 95%+! The student needs to keep up a CGPA of 8.5 after the first year to keep receiving the entire scholarship, or a CGPA of 8.0 to get 50%.
