Requirements for Scholarship Qualifications

Our pupils are some of the most talented and determined people in the world; they are driven to follow their passions. The middle 50% of our admitted freshmen scored between 21 and 27 on the ACT and between 1070 and 1260 on the SAT, with a GPA ranging from 3.23 to 3.93. Uncertain about whether to apply as a transfer or first-year student? First, let’s do this. Have you ever attended college before? Concurrent enrollment is a term you may be familiar with. You’re at the proper place if the only college curriculum you took was done concurrently—that is, while you were still enrolled in high school before you graduated. We will review your application to see if you qualify for first-year admission.

All-Ages Admission

Except for music, general admission is available to students enrolled in programs offered by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS), the School of Public Affairs (SPA), and the College of Arts & Media (CAM).

You meet several requirements that make you an excellent candidate for general admission.

  • Your test results and GPA are within or above our middle 50%.
  • You’ve fulfilled all HEAR prerequisites.
  • There are no more than two defects in your MAPS unit.

Admission Requirements for Higher Education (HEAR)

Students who graduate from high school in 2008 or after are subject to the state of Colorado’s Higher Education Admission Requirements or HEAR. The courses or units that applicants for admission must have completed by the time they graduate from high school are known as the HEAR requirements. College courses completed as a high school student may be applied toward meeting these criteria.

The requirements for high school courses and units vary based on the year of graduation.

2008 or 2009 class

  • Four English-language years
  • Three years of math classes (at least Algebra I)
  • Three years of social studies, including one year dedicated to either US or global history
  • Three years of natural science, including two lab-based years
  • Two academic elective years

2010 or Later Class

  • Four English-language years
  • Four years of mathematics, with at least three of those years spent in Algebra I.
  • Three years of social studies, including one year dedicated to either world or American history
  • Three years of natural science, including two lab-based years
  • Studying just one foreign language for a year
  • Two academic elective years
