POSITION: Shipping Manager
Job Description:
- Manages shipping and logistics department activities through planning, organization, and coordination.
- Coordinates and supervises the shipment of firm products and imports.
- Coordinates shipment booking and confirmation with the Company’s principals in the head office.
- Shipping lines and agencies.
- Communicates with various shipping lines and agencies on container and vessel movements.
- Arranges for empty containers to ship merchandise.
- Prepares and organizes all shipping documentation for all stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Manages the logistics of the company’s sales contracts to guarantee that products are delivered within the contract terms.
- Investigates consumer complaints about quality delivery or service to determine suitable remedial action
- Generates a monthly report on products shipped and shipment plans.
- Develops best practices for the efficient logistics of completed product operations.
- Ensures that the company follows both local and international maritime legislation, Customs
- Operating Procedures, Free Zone Board Procedures, and other related shipping rules to the business’s operations.
- Liaises between the company and key stakeholders such as CEPS, GPHA, forwarders, and Chamber of Commerce, Shippers’ Authority, and Shipping Agencies.
- Coordinates with the relevant Manager to plan, organize, and transport raw supplies from Supplier warehouses to Company-designated warehouses.
Requirements
A Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree combined with at least five (5) years of managerial experience in a relevant industry. OR a Certificate in Shipping and Logistics, with at least 7 years of supervisory experience. A master’s degree would be a benefit.
