The villages benefit from a wealth of educational, cultural, and recreational opportunities. Several recreational opportunities can be found on playing fields and courts in nearby forests, fields, and lakes, as well as along the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. • Type of Scholarship: Funded
  • Level of study: Degree
  • Eligibility: International Students

General Eligibility Criteria:

Superscore is the foundation for test scores.

  • Please be aware that our scholarship program is subject to modification and is evaluated annually. The data presented here pertains to the academic year 2023–2024.
  • MSU awards general scholarships to incoming freshmen (automatically) based on:
  • 3.0 grade-point average (core GPA determined by MSU on a 4.0 scale from grades 9–11) or overall GPA reported on the official high school transcript
  • Official SAT and ACT results sent straight to MSU
  • Furthermore, to be eligible for competitive scholarships—such as departmental, private, leadership, and service—you must submit the General Scholarship Application.
  • The scholarship committee will start evaluating citizens of Mississippi who have at least a 3.0 GPA, 20 ACT, or 1030 SAT. Non-residents with a minimum ACT score of 22 (1100 SAT) and a 3.0 GPA will be reviewed by the committee.

In the semester that the award is given, students must register as full-time students. Scholarships and non-resident scholarships are renewable, provided the applicant maintains continued full-time enrollment and meets the minimum GPA specified in the scholarship offer. Every spring semester, enrollment and GPA are reviewed.

The only criteria used to determine scholarship grants will be the ACT or SAT results from national or state test dates. The final ACT or SAT to be taken into consideration for scholarships is in February of your senior year. Scholarships are not given out based on scores in the writing sections of the ACT or SAT.

For co-op students, academic scholarships will be postponed throughout the work phase.

Afterwards

Recipients of federal, state, and/or scholarship funding may not be awarded more than what is necessary to cover their educational expenses and/or their financial needs. When students obtain funding from outside organizations or sources, this could happen. A modification to the student’s financial aid and scholarships is necessary when there is an overaward. If a student’s eligibility is lost, they might have to refund money. Any help you get that is not indicated on your award letter should be reported to the Department of Student Financial Aid to avoid an over-award. Other forms of assistance include benefits from the military, external scholarships, and vocational rehabilitation.
