Study In USA: Eastern Michigan University Graduate Assistantships 2024

Study In USA: Eastern Michigan University Graduate Assistantships 2024

Doctoral fellowships and graduate assistantships are both accepted forms of funding. A full GA/DF position is available to students, which entails a cash stipend and up to eighteen graduate credit hours of tuition waiver spread over an academic year.

A half-time award consists of a stipend and up to nine (9) graduate credit hours of tuition waiver spread between the fall and winter semesters (five hours each). Unless the courses are part of the curriculum for a 150-credit-hour dual degree bachelor’s program, courses completed below the 500 level will not be reimbursed under the GA/DF tuition waiver benefit.

Appointments for full-time graduate assistants and doctoral fellows (20 hours per week on average)

Up to nine graduate credit hours of tuition waiver every semester, up to a maximum of eighteen graduate credit hours per academic year, are available to students with full-time GA/DF appointments. Fall and winter semester enrollment requirements for students must include no less than six graduate credit hours. The remaining credit hours from the 18 credit hour award, up to a maximum of six, may be applied to spring or summer courses that fall within the same academic year.

Note: Regardless of the number of appointments made throughout the semester, a GA/DF is only eligible for a tuition waiver of up to nine graduate credit hours in a single semester. The unused credit hours of tuition waiver from the employed semester are forfeited if the GA/DF is not reappointed, is fired for the upcoming semester, or voluntarily leaves the assistantship before using up all of the available credit hours.

Advantages

In addition to covering tuition and differential tuition, this grant offers a stipend. It does not include program fees, late payment fees, registration fees, required fees, or the cost of initiating a new student record.

There isn’t a tuition waiver available in the spring or summer. This prize is only in part. Procedures for Applications

Candidates must look for an assistantship online or through their academic department or institution. You can fill out an application and include your CV, recommendation letters, and any other hiring materials the department requests when a position becomes available.

Candidates must look for an assistantship online or through their academic department or institution. You can fill out an application and include your CV, recommendation letters, and any other hiring materials the department requests when a position becomes available.

When you apply for other positions after submitting the first one, the data you already input will transfer over to the next application form, where you can make changes.

For fall appointments, most agencies and institutions request applicants in February or March. After examining the information submitted, offices will interview applicants and choose a GA. The department notifies EMU Human Resources of the hiring decision by sending a Personnel Action Form (PAF) to EMU Human Resources along with an offer letter to the applicant.

Following verification of the applicant’s eligibility, EMU Human Resources notifies Student Business Services and the Office of Financial Aid to proceed with processing the tuition/fee scholarship. The stipend information is then entered into the payroll database system.
