Subjects Available:

The SI grant for Global Professionals is available to students enrolled in around 700 master’s programs taught in English. These programs include those in the humanities, agricultural science, natural science, social science, medicine, public health, and technology.

Benefits of the Scholarship:

  • The highly competitive, fully-funded Scholarship for Global Professionals offers a wide range of perks.
  • Full payment of tuition fees, which SI makes to the Swedish university directly at the beginning of each semester.
  • A monthly allowance of SEK 12,000 to cover living costs for the duration of the study.
  • Full insurance that pays for accidents and illness.
  • A SEK 15,000 travel grant (apart from SEK 10,000 awarded to students from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine). Student residents in Sweden are not eligible for this one-time payment.
  • Becoming a member of the SI Network for Future Global Professionals (NFGP), which offers networking and professional development opportunities in Sweden.

This scholarship, however, does not:

  • Provide relatives with extra grants.
  • Pay the university admissions application fee.
  • Permit modifications to the chosen study plan. Support is limited to the master’s program that was awarded.
  • Permit alterations or extensions to the scholarship’s allotted time frame.

Nationalities That Qualify:

The SI Scholarship for Global Professionals is open to nationals of the following nations:

Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, Cameroon, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gambia, Georgia, Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Moldova, Morocco, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Vietnam, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Qualifications:

  • Although residence in one of the qualifying countries at the time of application is not required, your citizenship must match that of that country to be eligible for the SI scholarship.
  • The master’s programs you have selected, from the more than 750 English-based options available, must fulfill the requirements specified by the SI scholarship. Get the whole list to make your choice.
  • Verify that your acceptance into an approved master’s program by March 30, 2023, includes payment for Swedish university tuition costs and adheres to the University Admissions standards.
  • For instance, candidates must adhere to specific regional standards and have work and leadership experience that they can demonstrate through a job or involvement in civil society.

How to Apply:

How can you apply for the 2024 Government Scholarship in Sweden?

Step 1: Use university admissions to apply for a master’s program.

  • By January 15, 2024, apply to up to four master’s programs for the autumn of 2024 at UniversityAdmissions.se.
  • After finishing, get your personal application number.

Step 2: Obtain a Global Professionals Scholarship (SI) by applying.

November 1, 2023, is when the SI scholarship site opens, and it closes on February 28, 2024.

Get ready the necessary paperwork: a resume (no more than three pages), two recommendation letters, a copy of your valid passport, proof of job experience, and a motivation letter.

Important Dates for the 2024 Sweden Government Scholarship

  • Apply through University Admissions to Swedish master’s programs between October 16, 2023, and January 15, 2024.
  • Applications for the SI Scholarship will be available on November 1, 2023.
