Why attend the University of Victoria to study?

Excellent rankings and knowledgeable faculty

One of the top institutions in Canada, UVIC is well known for its contributions to community involvement, teaching, and research.

Based on international collaborations, UVic faculty routinely produce more top-performing academic research findings than any other university in North America, according to the Leiden University Rankings. Over the past 12 years, the university has impressively earned this place eight times. Thus, UVIC is a great spot to study under some of the world’s most renowned scholars if you’re interested in doing so!

A warm climate and a coastal location

The city of Victoria, which is on Vancouver Island, blends the best features of the sea and the land.

The stunning mountains and dense rainforests that surround Victoria’s undeveloped west coast beaches create the perfect setting for outdoor enthusiasts. Enjoy everything the island’s natural nature has to offer, from hiking, biking, and zip-lining above the treetops to kayaking, diving, and fishing.

Eco-friendly community

UVic draws influence from Victoria’s natural surroundings and fauna.

The university has prioritized sustainable living in the design, development, and operations of its campus over the last 23 years. Actually, since 2007, every new building on the UVic campus has been built by LEED Gold standards. Campus buildings now include more environmentally friendly features, such as the ability to collect rainwater and use it to irrigate campus vegetation, making them more sustainable.

Sustainable activities at UVic go beyond campus planning! Undergraduates at UVIC can pursue a degree in climate science if they are dedicated to changing the environment.
