Concerning the University of Saskatchewan

The University of Saskatchewan has maintained a position of prominence among the country’s most prestigious educational establishments year after year. It is a university that is easy on the wallet and has a beautiful campus. Additionally, students from other nations are welcome to apply for various scholarships that Saskatchewan University offers.

As a result of the university’s ability to offer a broad spectrum of human, animal, and plant sciences on a single campus, it is regarded as one of the best medical and doctorate educational institutions in all of Canada.

The language prerequisites for it are not particularly difficult to meet. IELTS may be waived in some cases. Learn how to study without preparing for the IELTS here. The following is information regarding the University of Saskatchewan Scholarship 2024 in its various forms.

Our campus

We recognize that the main campus of our university is situated on Treaty 6 Territory, which is also the Métis Homeland, and we pay our respects to the First Nations and Métis ancestors who once lived in this region. At the same time, we recommit ourselves to maintaining a healthy relationship with one another.

Our historically significant main campus in Saskatoon is frequently regarded as one of the most visually appealing campuses in the entirety of Canada due to the abundance of green space, tall greystone buildings, and tree-lined paths that can be found there.

You will find the regions that define your time at the institution as you travel throughout this location and investigate its various nooks and crannies. The physical locations of life, such as museums and galleries, libraries, student hangouts, sporting event sites, and natural settings, have the potential to become the sites where some of the most significant memories of your life are formed.

Why study at the University of Saskatchewan?

Academic experiences

While pursuing their degrees at the University of Saskatchewan, one in four students will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on research, and one in ten students will have this opportunity in their first year.

USask is a place where you may learn, grow, and become a member of a community that appreciates the aesthetic value that can come from acquiring new knowledge.

Our students have the chance to obtain practical, hands-on experience in their field of study. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways, including taking part in an internship or co-op program, participating in a field class, or taking advantage of a study abroad or exchange program at another Canadian or foreign institution.

Working alongside renowned faculty in some of the most advanced research and education facilities in the world, such as the Canadian Light Source Synchrotron, the Global Institute for Water Security, and VIDO-InterVac, one of the world’s most advanced containment level 3 vaccine research and teaching facilities, will provide you with the opportunity to make a direct contribution to the advancement of human knowledge. This opportunity will be available to you during your time at the University of Waterloo.

Step 2: Check your email

Within two to three business days, an email containing your temporary password and new login ID for the PAWS online portal will be sent to you.

To access the application forms for Competitive Entrance Scholarships and Competitive Entrance Bursaries, log in to PAWS and select the Scholarships and Bursaries channel.

Step 3: Submit your awards applications by March 1

Click the green “Apply” button after opening the PAWS channel for scholarships and bursaries.

Instead of choosing to apply for awards once you have begun an application, choose View or Change My Award Applications.

From the drop-down option for “Entering Students,” select the application form you want to complete:

Competitive Entrance Scholarships

Scholarships are given out based on academic performance, with additional considerations for leadership, involvement in the community and/or school, and other factors.

Competitive Entrance Bursaries

In addition to taking into account leadership, school/community involvement, academic accomplishment, and other factors, bursaries are given out based on financial need.

If you would like to apply for both bursaries and scholarships, you are advised to complete both forms.

When you’re ready, make sure to submit your application or applications; incomplete applications won’t be taken into consideration.

Step 4: Submit supporting documents by March 1

Depending on the rewards you choose, different documentation is required for your applications for competitive entrance bursaries and/or scholarships. To access the supporting papers you must submit, click Access My Supporting Paperwork in the PAWS Scholarships & Bursaries channel after submitting your application.

Commonly required supporting documents include:

1. List of activities

Your lists of leadership roles, athletic prowess, and involvement in the community and school should be:

  • Particular, with illustrative examples
  • Dated, with a time limit specified for every task
  • Distinct, adapted to the particular selection requirements of each prize

2. Letters of recommendation

A reference letter is a letter that supports your application(s) for scholarships and/or bursaries from a person you know, such as a teacher, employer, community leader, or other person in your life who can attest to your accomplishments and personal traits.

Advice for writing outstanding letters of recommendation:

Make sure you carefully select your references.

Select a person who can articulate themselves clearly in writing and who has known you long enough to provide a detailed account of your positive traits. Never request a reference from a member of your family.

Inform your references.

Give your references as much information about you and your award application as possible. Referencing letters from your references will be better and more pertinent if you have an awards list and resume in hand. Give them plenty of time and let them know when you plan to finish.

One size may not fit all.

Requesting award-specific reference letters from your references makes it much easier to explain why you should be chosen over someone who offers a more generic letter of recommendation.

Together with other award documentation, provide reference letters.

They don’t have to be sent in different envelopes, signed, sealed, or delivered by the references personally. Just put them in with the rest of your documents, whatever you want to submit.

Make sure your reference letters are error-free.

Certain references compose multiple letters of recommendation for various students. Verify that the letters you supply with your submission accurately describe you and not an incorrect person.

Thank your references.

Say thank you in person or by sending a note, any way you choose! By expressing gratitude, you are letting your references know that you value their work.

3. Calculator of financial need

You must fill out the Financial Need Calculator component of PAWS’s Competitive Entrance Bursaries application to be eligible for bursaries.

Information about your income, assets, and unusual expenses will be requested of you. The Financial Need Calculator must include your parents’ or guardians’ income tax information from the most recent tax year if you are a dependent student.

Methods of submission:

  • Make a single supporting document file that includes sections and a table of contents for every award.
  • Put a cover sheet with a list of the awards you’ve applied for, your complete name, contact details (including email address), and NSID.
  • Put your name and NSID on every page to prevent them from being misplaced or lost.
