Carleton University Scholarship Categories

Entrance Scholarships

You will be automatically eligible for a renewable entrance scholarship at the time of admission if you have been admitted to Carleton for fall entry with an admission average of 80% or higher. If you are a first-time high school or CÉGEP student entering Carleton and have never attended a post-secondary institution before, you may be eligible for a renewable entrance scholarship. On or before June 15, we must receive your completed admissions application and all necessary grades for you to be eligible for an entrance scholarship.

You might qualify for one of our transfer scholarships if you’re a standout student moving from another Canadian institution or college to Carleton’s full-time undergraduate program.

Prestige Scholarships

The Prestige Scholarships are our greatest honor. Only those who are joining Carleton directly from high school or CÉGEP with an entrance average of 90% or higher will be eligible to apply for a Prestige Scholarship. Additionally, the selection committee will evaluate the scope of your secondary school or community extracurricular activities. By March 1st, an application and a letter of recommendation are needed.

Other Entrance Scholarships

Carleton Capital Scholarship

Up to 13 students will be chosen each year to receive a $2,000 award for their first year. One winner will be chosen from each state and territory. Along with other entrance scholarships, the Carleton Capital Scholarship is given out.

To be qualified for the Carleton Capital Scholarship, students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons who are starting their first year of college or university. Additionally, students must show that they are involved in activities outside of school and have a good academic background (with an average of at least 90% for admission). You need to fill out an application. March 1 is the last day.

Sprott School of Business Scholarships

The top students who are starting their first year in the Bachelor of Commerce program will each receive the Dean’s Entrance Scholarship of Excellence, which is worth $1,000 to $4,000. Along with other entrance scholarships, this one is given out.

Faculty of Engineering and Design Scholarships

Up to 60 $1,000 scholarships will be given to the best students who are going to certain Bachelor of Engineering schools. Along with other entrance scholarships, this one is given out.

Page Program Entrance Scholarships

Students in the House of Commons Page Program who are starting an undergraduate degree program at Carleton will be able to win up to 15 grants. The grant is worth $1,000 and is given out on top of other entrance scholarships.

Collins Memorial Entrance Scholarships for Earth Sciences

Students starting their first year in an Earth Sciences school will be given at least two scholarships worth $1,000 to $4,000. Along with other entrance scholarships, this one is given out.

The Law Scholarship in Architectural Studies

A $10,000 scholarship is given every year to a deserving full-time foreign undergraduate student starting the Bachelor of Architectural Studies. A high school in China or Hong Kong must have accepted the students. You need to fill out an application.

Arthur Kroeger College National Scholarships

Students who want to start the Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management study will be able to get up to 10 scholarships. Two kids (with an average acceptance rate of at least 90%) will be chosen from each of the five areas below:

• Atlantic Canada
• British Columbia and Northern Canada
• Ontario
• Prairies
• Quebec

The grant is worth $2,000 and will be given out along with other entrance scholarships.

Collins Memorial Entrance Scholarships for Earth Sciences

Students starting their first year in an Earth Sciences school will be given at least two scholarships worth $1,000 to $4,000. Along with other entrance scholarships, this one is given out.
