Site Supervisor at LMI Holdings
Purpose
The person in this job will be in charge of making sure that different road and sewer projects are done on time and on budget. He also has to handle Sub-Contractors on different project sites and give reports on how things are going.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Do preliminary inspections and studies of the planned construction site and give input on the work scope by working with the QS to make a bill of quantities (BOQ).
- Organize the supplies and make sure the work sites are safe and clean.
- Tell the Project Coordinator every day what is going on on the spot.
- Prepare the POW for the Project Coordinator’s final review and keep the subcontractors up to date.
- Give reports on how the work is going at different places and, if necessary, give presentations.
- Make sure that all projects have quality assurance means in place, and make sure that all subcontractors and other people with a stake in the project do the same.
- Compare the cost and project plan for each activity
- Help keep track of real project costs and how they compare to the budget.
- Check the site often to find and get rid of any possible safety hazards and make sure the site is always safe.
- Keep exact records of all subcontractors’ attendance, equipment, fuel, and material use on the job site.
- Make suggestions for how to improve construction processes and procedures.
Competencies
- Know how to build roads and drains, as well as how to plan them and oversee their building.
- Experience leading a small to big group of people.
- Getting a handle on high standards in building.
- Know how to handle projects.
- Qualifications/Experience
- An HND or degree in Civil Engineering or a related area.
- Three (3) years in a similar position
