Role Title: Tractor Driver

Company Description

Serendipalm Co. Ltd. runs a commercial Fairtrade and Organic palm oil initiative with smallholders and a “traditional” village-based oil mill. The project, which is organic and fair trade certified, provides various brands in Europe and the United States and has a significant impact on rural development in the Eastern Region. It is expanding into cacao and other organic and fair products, as well as value addition that necessitates processing.

Serendipalm is a value-driven organization with a highly motivated team of 20+ professionals managing 300+ local personnel, many of whom are unskilled. Serendipalm’s sibling firm, Dr. Bronner’s, provides assistance in a variety of areas, including accounting and advising help.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the corporate vehicle(s) in good functioning order, including completing essential maintenance and services in line with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
• Keep the company car clean and tidy.
• Transport fruits from the fields of Serendipalm farmers to the mill.
• Assist with fruit loading and unloading at the farm and the mill.
• Coordination and collaboration with farmers and Serendipalm – the corporation
• Check that the vehicle’s registration and insurance are up to date.
• Keep a fuel and maintenance logbook.
• When necessary, POME and EFB are distributed to selected farmer fields.
• Make sure your license is renewed before it expires.
• To carry out any other duties as assigned by your manager.

Required Qualifications or Experience

Qualifications (a must):

• WASSCE certification
• A current driver’s license. (A class D is preferred.)
• At least one year of heavy machine driving experience is required. (Tractor)
• Self-motivated, team-oriented, and capable of communicating and working productively and openly with coworkers and farmers.
• Excellent oral communication skills as well as a proactive approach to efficient communication in Twi and English are required.
• Willingness to learn new skills.
• Willingness to relocate to Asuom, Eastern Region on a full-time basis
• Maximum age of 40 years
