ROLE: External Auditors
SEND GHANA started out as the Social Enterprise Development Foundation of West Africa on August 4, 1998. The group has grown into a well-known and trusted national non-governmental organization that focuses on policy research, support for policies that help the poor, budget advocacy, development program monitoring in Ghana, and service delivery by promoting livelihood security.
SEND GHANA’s goal is to support good governance and equal rights for women and men in Ghana. It does this through two key programming areas: the Grassroots Economic Literacy and Policy Advocacy Programme (GELAP) and the Livelihood, Food, and Nutrition Security Programme (LFNSP). The group has three working offices, two of which are in the north (Tamale and Salaga) and one in the south (Accra). SEND is up and running in 12 of Ghana’s 16 areas.
SEND GHANA is looking for licensed, certified audit companies to bid on auditing its financial statements for the fiscal year that ends on December 31, 2023. If the bids are accepted, the audits could also be done for the three (3) fiscal years after that.
Objectives of the Audit
The goal of the audit is for the accountants to carry out the following audit reviews:
- The auditors will evaluate SEND GHANA’s financial statements according to best international non-profit practices.
- IPSAS and IFRS, recognized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana, will be used for the audit.
- The Audit will verify that all acts have proper records, books of accounts, and supporting papers.
- After the audit, the auditors will produce a letter to management identifying system and control weaknesses and offering solutions to the Board and leadership.
- Inform Management of anything else the inspectors consider important.
Skills or Experience Needed
- The auditing company is a member of ICA Ghana, which is a national group of good auditors.
- The right institutions in Ghana have registered and licensed the auditing company.
- Show that you have been doing external audits for non-governmental organizations (NGOs) for at least three years and that you are good at it. (You’ll need to show that you’ve done an external check for an NGO before)
- The technical proposal must include a list of the suggested professional staff, along with their professional qualifications and years of experience.
