Position Description

The Accounts and Stores Officer is responsible for ensuring effective financial and inventory management. To maintain smooth operations, the role entails monitoring both accounting tasks and storekeeping duties.

Technical Knowledge/Responsibilities

  • Ensure that standards are followed when issuing and receiving inventory.
  • Keep detailed records of all stock received and shipped.
  • Collaborate with the buying department to order and receive merchandise while ensuring it is in the correct quantity and condition.
  • Conduct physical counts on a weekly and monthly basis, and promptly report any variances to the account supervisor.
  • To avoid overbuying, identify and report sluggish-moving items.
  • Perform a monthly inventory audit to assess stock levels and requirements.
  • The storeroom was kept clean and orderly.
  • Work with other departments to maintain proper stock levels.
  • Carry out a daily stock count at the bar.
  • Lastly, implement good retail management procedures.

Required Qualifications or Experience

Education and Experience

  • HND in Accounting or a relevant discipline is required.
  • A minimum of four years of relevant expertise in accounting and shop management is required. Years of relevant experience in accounting and shop management are required.
