- Job Title: Project Manager

Job Purpose:
To ensure effective project delivery, the project lead will carry out the following tasks:
- Coordination of the HIE platform’s design, setup, and deployment.
- Communicate with the Senior MIS Technical Advisor and clients to ensure that project requirements, scopes, and objectives are met under project objectives.
- Facilitate the coordination and participation of all essential project stakeholders.
- Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure that projects stay on track in terms of scope, time, and money.
- Examine project progress and, if required, adjust the scope or timetable to achieve the best results.
- Monitor performance and ensure project deliverables are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Ensure that customer deliverables adhere to S4D quality assurance standards.
- Recognize and identify potential risks and issues related to project execution.
- Create risk mitigation strategies and disaster recovery plans to address the identified hazards.
- Manage project budgets, including tracking expenses, assuring cost-effectiveness, and making required adjustments.
- Establish and implement quality assurance mechanisms to ensure that a high-quality HIE platform is delivered.
- Conduct regular project reviews and audits to ensure that quality requirements are met.
- Keep track of project timelines and milestones to ensure that the project continues on track.
- Promptly identify and handle any deviations from the project plan.
- Keep detailed project documentation, such as project plans, status reports, issue logs, and meeting minutes.
- Ensure that key parties have access to documentation.
- During the implementation phase, coordinate training programs for end users and stakeholders.
- Plan and manage the HIE platform’s transition from development to production.
Key Competencies desired:
- Three or more years of project management experience.
- Previous experience organizing teams and clients.
- Proven success dealing with all levels of management in a corporate context.
- Excellent writing, oral, and presentation skills.
- Quick learner with a strong desire to always improve your skills and expertise.
- Collaborative and team-oriented working style, both with clients and inside S4D.
- A growth mentality, a positive attitude, and a strong interest in overcoming client concerns, adapting to a changing work environment, and dealing with new issues are required.
- Interpersonal skills and the capacity to establish and maintain trusting relationships.
- The ability to operate under duress.
- Outstanding problem-solving, written, and oral communication abilities.
- Capable of working efficiently with little coaching or supervision.
- Superior organizational and managerial abilities.
- Team player, self-starter, and results-oriented.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- A master’s degree in project management, business administration, healthcare administration, or a similar subject is required.
- Proven project management expertise, preferably in healthcare IT or health information exchange initiatives.
- Understanding of the ideas, standards, and rules governing health information sharing.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Project management credentials include the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Professional (PMP), and others.
- Familiarity with project management software
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Working knowledge of public health business initiatives and workflow.
- Thorough working knowledge and comprehension of Ghana’s Ministry of Health/GHS.
- Project management certification (such as the PMP) is advantageous.
