Your Role

The Planning, Logistics, and End-to-End Procurement Manager’s job is to help make a strategic plan for buying, logistics, and distribution that can be used year after year to help the business reach its goals. The person in this role will lead, come up with new ideas for, and manage the portfolio of Logistics and Distribution strategic initiatives, team projects, and top-priority initiatives as they are identified.

The ideal candidate will have led a wide range of strategic projects through all stages of a project’s lifecycle in previous roles in Strategy and Operations and procurement.

The candidate should be able to solve problems, use analytics, have business sense and good judgment, lead a team, work with people from different departments, run meetings, and manage programs. Capable of leading projects from the idea stage all the way through implementation and steady-state execution.

Responsibilities

  • Find and implement continuous improvement projects that add value to all Supply Chain operations and business.
  • Bring in the best of the best and challenge the way people usually think about strategic initiatives and opportunities to improve operations on an ongoing basis.
  • Lead business transformation projects from strategy to implementation, either by yourself or through managing team members or resources from outside the company.
  • Set up and keep an eye on ongoing budget, time, value, scope, and quality measures for program delivery, and use status reports and other tools to make sure progress is being made toward goals.
  • Define and track KPIs at the initiative level that measure the return on investment with the help of business stakeholders.
  • Using effective change management skills, find and fix internal barriers to change to make sure initiative goals are adopted and met.
  • Take care of different customer, supplier, or operational problems as they come up.
  • Prepare information and analysis about the portfolio, such as price benchmarking and total cost analysis, so that budgeting, cash forecasting, and forecast variance analysis can be done correctly.
  • Help get the cost-savings and innovation agenda done
  • Help with the portfolio’s financial analysis, such as price benchmarking and total cost analysis
  • Set up, maintain, and push for the adoption of enterprise-wide standards for program management.
  • Prepare and help to organize regular updates on the portfolio of projects.
  • Change and add to the way things are done to make a full Quality Management System.

Skills, work experience, and credentials: –

  • At least five (5) years of experience managing in an industry, with knowledge of Supply Chain, operations management, and lean manufacturing. At least three years of experience running cross-functional programs through all stages of a project’s lifecycle (from envisioning through steady-state execution)
  • Must have experience with both strategy and execution and be able to show that they can think creatively and come up with new ways to solve complex problems.
  • Experience buying in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry
  • Ability to work on your own, make good decisions, and back up suggestions with good reasoning and good communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and persuasion skills with colleagues and senior level executives.
  • Knowledge of best practices and fundamental components of effective Project Management techniques, tools, and processes.
  • Ability to quickly adjust to changes and lead others through them.
  • Retail/CPG industry experience is preferred, but not required.
  • You should have a good understanding of both domestic and international logistics as well as multi-tiered distribution operations. Logistics design is much easier if you have done it before.
