POSITION: Heal Project Officer

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct needs assessments and evaluations in collaboration with communities to determine what development interventions are required.
  • Coordinate the formulation of HEAL TP plans and budgets; and carry out planned activities within the authorized budget.
  • Ensure the availability of qualitative and quantitative data and information for use in Horizon and CWBT reports.
  • Increase the capacity of Development Facilitators, volunteers, communities, Church and Government partners, and other stakeholders in WASH and Health/Nutrition concerns.
  • Participate in child mapping and monitoring processes in communities to ensure that children and their families participate in AP activities.
  • Registered children and the most vulnerable individuals identified by the community.
  • Facilitate communication between RC and their sponsors, and ensure that Sponsorship Key Performance Indicators are satisfied in the many APs that comprise the cluster.
  • Participate in the RC registration, monitoring, and data processing for marketing purposes.
  • Ensure that Audit and Risk Assessment recommendations are implemented in WASH and Health/Nutrition programs and their effect areas across the cluster.
  • Participate in the development of concept notes, proposals, and impact stories that can be used to engage donors in the health/nutrition and WASH sectors.
  • Facilitate and report (monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, and annually) on HEAL TP activities, outputs, and outcomes in AP communities.
  • Ensure that the WV cluster office is represented in district and regional WASH/Health/Nutrition activities to which World Vision is invited, and report back to the cluster programme manager.

Required professional experience.

  • Four years of experience working in the WASH/Health Sector.
  • Four years of experience working with non-governmental organizations.

Required education,

  • Education required: A degree in hydrogeology, public health, behavioural science, water and sanitation engineering, project management, or a related discipline.
  • Technical Training Qualifications Required: Public Health & Nutrition
  • Experience: Four years of experience working in the WASH or health/nutrition sectors.

Preferred Knowledge and qualifications

  • A thorough grasp of community-based techniques, Social Behavioural Change Communication, and the clear participation of children, women, and people with disabilities in hygiene promotion.
  • Knowledge of important project models and methodologies in the WASH, Health, and Nutrition sectors.
  • Must be a devout Christian capable of overcoming denominational differences.
  • Attend and/or lead daily devotions and weekly Chapel services.
  • Proven ability to communicate with diverse audiences about WASH/Health and Nutrition.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Capability to assist in the development and implementation of initiatives.
  • Excellent development and facilitation skills, including accelerating, connecting, and increasing the capacity of community groups/partners.
  • Strong communicator at all levels, with excellent interpersonal skills and a willingness to listen to others.
  • Show commitment to empowering the underprivileged in remote regions.
  • Working knowledge of program/project lifecycle management.
  • Ability to maintain effective working connections with colleagues and critical partners.
  • Experience in community entry, mobilization, and development facilitation.
  • Working grasp of proposal writing and negotiation techniques.
  • Monitoring, reporting, and proposal writing skills
