Job Summary

Overseeing the entire lifecycle of card products at Absa Ghana, including product development and enhancement, market research, regulatory compliance, profitability management, collaboration with cross-functional teams, risk mitigation, customer experience enhancement, and continuous performance monitoring.

Job Description.

Development of Product Strategy

  • Plan managed, led, and directed the commercial operations of debit, credit, and prepaid cards.
  • Create product policies to help develop the product portfolio.
  • Conduct market research on any new items released to ensure product characteristics meet client needs.
  • Identify and design appropriate products and services for target segments and customers.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to acquire development support, prioritize systems, and schedule testing.
  • Ensure effective product launches, ensuring all aspects are managed by the necessary specialist areas, including marketing communications, training, systems and operations availability, and contingencies.
  • Support in anticipating and monitoring product demand quantities.
  • Pricing optimization and preventing income leakages
  • Track and assess product performance on a monthly and annual basis, and offer remedial activities to address shortcomings.
  • Manage unit-level card stock planning. Ensure card threshold adherence and 0% shortages throughout the network and during sales promotions.
  • Monitor service level agreements (internal and external) and associated KPIs.
  • Achieve operational rigor excellence in all parts of procedures and processes, and ensure that suitable controls are implemented to achieve a green audit.

Delivery of Product Development

  • Maximize business efficiencies to provide clients with better products and services at a profit.
  • Review and monitor competitor product offers to ensure Absa Card goods have a competitive advantage.
  • Repackage the existing product range in response to changing client needs.
  • Evaluate, plan, optimize, and deliver product design enhancements, taking full responsibility for the quality of service provided to customers throughout the product set.
  • Product specifications should be reviewed regularly to ensure they are in line with the business strategy. Recommend any changes required to fulfill the expectations of target client categories while remaining compliant with bank policies and procedures.
  • Ensure legal and contingency requirements for the product set are established

Support portfolio management.

  • Develop methods for driving Portfolio Initiatives to Increase Book Size
  • Collaborate with marketing and other important divisions to strengthen marketing efforts.
  • Report on Spend Campaign Performance: 10%

Sales Support

  • Support the commercial and sales teams (e.g., Sales Managers, LGs, and RMs).
  • Responsible for evaluating and delivering new product improvements and enhancements.
  • Training and pricing decisions
  • Product maintenance and compliance answers.

Operational Rigour

  • Achieve operational excellence in all aspects of procedures and processes to guarantee a successful audit.
  • Ensure compliance with operational risk and rigor requirements, such as health and safety regulations, facility security, and so on.
  • Comply with applicable legislation, such as KYC, banking code service requirements, fraud prevention, and money laundering protocols.
  • Generate reports for any risky occurrences that occur.
  • Conduct RCA and snap checks.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas in Business, Commerce, and Management (Required)
