New Job Opening at Arla Foods Ghana
Arla Foods Ghana is offering an excellent opportunity to join their team as a Sales Manager. This post reports to the General Manager Ghana and oversees all distribution sales/export markets in the West African area. You will also be responsible for directing the execution of profitability-aligned short, medium, and long-term strategies for distributor sales markets.
Key Responsibilities of the Position
- Responsible for commercializing the company’s products, executing/tracking market policies and strategies in allocated export areas in order to reach stated goals.
- Assist sales department with price monitoring and analysis. Implement medium-term sales plan across channels, regions, product lines, market segments, and client accounts/distributors.
- To meet stated sales targets, a sales team’s efforts within a specific area, product line, or market segment are planned, directed, and monitored.
- Develops sales plans, activities, and campaigns and directs the day-to-day operations of a sales team to implement the organization’s overall sales strategy for a channel, an assigned geography, product line, market segment, a list of customer accounts, or distributors.
- Creates sales predictions and budgets.
- Compares sales volume, revenue, and costs against predictions to identify problem areas.
- Improves sales team performance by adapting procedures and reallocating resources.
- Negotiates sales with existing and new clients who are strategically important to the organization.
- Contributes to the formulation of sales, marketing, customer retention, advertising, pricing, and distribution strategies within the area of responsibility.
- Coaches sales personnel on the technical elements of the company’s products and services, marketing campaigns, and sales promotions, as well as sales strategies, procedures, and standards that will assist them in meeting their sales targets.
Background/experience
The ideal candidate should have
- 4–7 years of experience in a similar context (an FMCG background is preferred, but not required).
- Educated to a Bachelor’s level (master’s degree is preferred)
- Proven success in overseas sales and business development.
- Computer savvy with working knowledge of logistics software (ERP).
- Skilled with MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- An expert knowing the sales market and trends.
- Analytical talents and knack for figures
- Excellent negotiator.
Personal Competencies
- Ability to operate with minimal supervision and track many processes
- Business fluency in both English and French
- Capacity to present difficult topics
- Excellent at stakeholder management.
We seek a someone with the ability to travel 70% of the West African region and be comfortable in an international and multicultural situation. Candidates must be based in Ghana or willing to relocate within the region.
