POSITION: IT Officer

Job Description.

  • Reports to: Head of Central Processing and Technology.
  • Mandate: Assist the IT Manager in resolving all IT issues and protecting the bank from cyber fraud.

Duties and responsibilities

User management and account maintenance.

  • Recommend and maintain internal security policies and procedures to ensure the security of information technology facilities, software, equipment, and the integrity and security of the bank’s automated information.
  • Monitor system performance.
  • Create file systems.
  • Monitor network communication.
  • Install or update the system as soon as a new version of the operating system or application software is released.
  • Establish security policies for users’ documentation to facilitate internal work.
  • Daily backup of transaction data/files on the server.
  • Ensure the repair and maintenance of ICT and other electronic equipment utilized by the bank.

Handling the Help Desk requirements

  • Maintain security and confidentiality by issuing and properly maintaining approved user IDs and passwords, as well as keeping a valid and up-to-date user list.
  • Regularly reviewing access rights and records and recommending preventive measures as needed.
  • Reviewing and monitoring security issues at the bank.
  • Ensure that all data possessed or utilized by a certain employee has a specified owner.
  • Assist in acquiring security software and equipment to fulfill the bank’s requirements.

Qualification, Experience, and Competences

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or other related field.
  • Requirements for this post include at least two years of experience and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to pay close attention to details.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal abilities.
  • Good knowledge of T24 Banking application system administration.
