POSITION: Assistant Finance Manager

Job Description

The best funeral home in Ghana, Lashibi Funeral Homes & Crematorium, is looking for people to fill the following position.

This job is in charge of the funeral home’s finances along with another person. As the F&A Manager’s assistant, you will be in charge of setting up and managing the systems and procedures for getting money, paying bills, and buying things. This is to make sure that financial information is accurate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Help the F&A Manager and other unit/department heads with the annual budgeting and planning process.
  • Make reports and oversee the process of making reports at the end of the month.
  • Keeping track of the organization’s cash flow and making plans for it, as well as keeping an eye on all bank accounts and investment vehicles, is important for keeping enough working capital and return.
  • Helps set prices for goods and services and oversees the billing and payment processes
  • Watch over the buying process and how contracts are made with suppliers and vendors.
  • Working internally or with a payroll vendor to prepare and input payroll, including the distribution and reporting of payroll, the calculation of wages, overtime, and deductions, and the keeping of on-site employee records to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Making sure that financial, tax, and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Updating, writing down, and putting into place all the necessary business policies and accounting practices to improve the efficiency and financial controls of the finance department.
  • Managers can get the financial information they need, such as customized financial reports, costing templates, and monthly, quarterly, and annual trend analyses.
  • Give your staff training on basic financial matters as and when they need it.
  • Find the relevant units and work with them to reduce risks.
  • Managing and reviewing all financial plans and budgets, keeping track of progress and changes, and keeping the Senior Leadership Team informed of the organization’s financial status.

Skills or Experience Needed

Education and Work History

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a field that is closely related;
  • Relevant professional qualification, e.g. ACAG ACCA, CIMA
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting at a professional level
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience that is enough to do the job’s most important tasks. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experience with common accounting software packages.
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities that are needed
  • Shows good organization, strong analytical skills, and close attention to detail.
  • Strong technical skills and experience, as well as a focus on business growth.
  • Shows that they know how to manage and keep an eye on a budget.
  • able to fill in for the F&A Manager Good communication skills and empathy
