Job purpose

Your main responsibilities

  • Oversee all electrical and instrument control engineering crews.
  • Ensure every project meets safety and legal criteria.
  • Lead electrical safety audits, gap identification, action plan preparation, corrective measures, and follow-up to improve manufacturing plant electrical safety programs.
  • Assess current HT/LT electrical distribution systems, plan and budget for new investments, and execute new improvement or capacity enhancement projects without safety, health, or environmental issues within budget and time.
  • Project management, estimating, scheduling, personnel, procurement, and value engineering-based automation and control.
  • Keep in touch with the Electricity Company of Ghana to increase site power dependability as the main electrical contact.
  • Provides vital support for production line issues and leads and participates in continuous improvement and organized kaizen projects.
  • Discuss technical maintenance needs with multiple vendors or contractors.
  • Provide safe, high-quality, and cost-effective maintenance.
  • Monitor and report machine dependability, MTBF, MTTR, breakdown rate, and repair/maintenance costs.
  • Develop Technical Standards for user requirements.
  • Coach subordinates or crews on technical standards.
  • Find and apply best practices to other lines.
  • To use CMMS effectively.
  • Collaboration with the digital and automation teams to explore and execute novel automation and digitalization methods.
  • Analyze project requirements and calculate the electrical, robotic safety, motor controls, and IT required for design.
  • Design and finish project-specific designs.
  • Make an accurate BOM.
  • Responsible for system, hardware (panel, hydraulic, pneumatic, instrumentation, electrical, network, etc.), and HMI software design.
  • Hardware selection considering the present installation.

Requirements

Experience & Knowledge

  • Bachelor of electrical/electronics engineering—or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of similar experience.
  • Control system automation and manufacturing instrument experience and familiarity with automation project hardware and software products and services.
  • Experience making FMCGs.
  • Knowledge of FMCG principles, methods, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of machinery safety.

Skills

  • Programmed and troubleshot Omron, Allend-Bradley, Siemens, RSLogix 5000, etc. PLCs.
  • Strong control and electrical system design skills for automated industrial designs, including vision, power, sensor, inspection, and communications systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an energetic and dynamic work environment.
