POSITION: Sales Associate

Built is a financial technology startup that aims to democratize success for small businesses across Africa. The enterprise uses web and mobile technology to assist small businesses start, run, and expand. The company’s primary product is a simple financial record-keeping application that allows small business owners to simply save and manage their financial data for quick data-driven decision-making, as well as access a selection of financial services tailored to their size and needs.

Who Are We Looking For?

We’re looking for an ambitious, results-driven Sales Associate to join our growing team.

The ideal candidates are:

  • An entrepreneurial salesperson looking for a long-term career in B2B sales.
  • Excellent at communicating value and distinguishing product offerings.
  • Experienced in working with technical items and closing deals within a 30-day sales cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively look for leads and establish a strong prospect list
  • Identify and pursue high-value sales opportunities to increase company revenue.
  • Manage and report individual sales targets.
  • Use in-depth product expertise to demonstrate Built’s solutions for prospects
  • Conduct timely and effective follow-ups with potential customers.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our sales process.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years of B2B sales experience, including pipeline reporting.
  • Proven track record in cold canvassing and strong conversion rates.
  • Expertise in modern sales closing tactics and their practical application
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a similar discipline (or comparable experience)

Key Competencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Prior sales experience in fintech is an additional advantage.
  • Demonstrates strong independence and teamwork skills, as well as confidence and resilience in the face of challenges.
  • Excellent time management and organizing abilities.
  • Results-oriented, driven to reach and surpass targets.
  • Requirements for this position include adaptability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced startup environment, as well as the ability to provide sales presentations to executives and business owners.
