POSITION: Consumer Insight Specialist
GBfoods offers culinary solutions in Europe and Africa with prominent local brands such as Jumbo, Gallina Blanca, Erasco, Gino, Liebig, Star, Bama, D&L, Grand’Italia, and BlÃ¥ Band, among others. GBfoods Africa operates in 24 countries, including a regional office in Accra, Ghana.

Role:
Report to the Consumer Insight Manager
The Consumer Insight Specialist will collect, analyze, and evaluate consumer and shopper data to give actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making. The function attempts to improve the understanding of customer behaviors, preferences, and trends to guide product development, marketing initiatives, and overall business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the CI Manager in conducting consumer, competitive, and shopper analysis to provide the organization with relevant information from several sources, including Retail Audit, Brand Health Tracker, and Household Panel
- Implement the Market Research Tools in collaboration with your research partner.
- Manage allocated projects from start to finish (briefing to presenting of outcomes).
- Data tracking, administration, and reporting.
- Ensure quality fieldwork and timely reporting of ad hoc and tracking studies.
- Contribute to team knowledge enhancement by leading training sessions, supporting knowledge exchange, investigating novel research methodologies (such as AI), and arranging annual CI events.
- Coordinate research plans, budgets, and supplier payments.
- Be a valuable partner to the Commercial team and the Consumer Insights Community by giving a thorough insight into the market and consumers.
- Contribute to the preparation of BU Business Plans and Strategic Management Reviews for categories and brands.
- Analyze market trends and consumer data to find potential product development and marketing initiatives.
- Monitor and assess the efficacy of marketing efforts and product releases.
- Determine relevant market research strategies and procedures by using feedback from research suppliers and internal specialists to develop optimal research protocols.
- Implement and guarantee quality throughout the research process.
- Data mining, analysis, and reporting.

Requirements
Technical Competencies
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, market research, marketing, or another business-related field.
- At least 5 years of experience conducting consumer research in the FMCG industry, either for a client or for a research firm.
- Proficiency in effectively communicating insights and writing appealing, easy-to-understand materials.
- Experience with both quantitative and qualitative research approaches.
- SAP knowledge, as well as familiarity with MS Office and Power BI.
- Project management experience.
- Understanding the following research protocols/methodologies: retail audit, pricing research, NPD research, and positioning research.
- High consumer and marketing sensitivity.
