POSITION: Country Finance Manager
Qualification:
- Accountancy (CACIMA, ACA, ACCA, or a foreign equivalent) or Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting (preferred)
- Master’s degree in business administration (preferred)
- Note that the person has led a Finance Team in a multinational company for not less than seven years.
Role Purpose
The person in this job is in charge of and responsible for all financial and fiscal matters in the territory. They do this by carrying out the main duties and responsibilities listed below, either on their own or through subordinates. This includes but is not limited to, payables, accounts, budgeting, internal control, profit and loss, and closing the books at the end of the month. In addition to being able to give advice to the organization’s leaders on how to plan its finances.
Objectives of the Role
- Make sure Group Policies are strictly followed and followed Get good results from both internal and exterior audits
- Give Financial Statements that are correct and on time. Watches over the operating entity’s controls and makes sure company assets are safe.
- Be a business partner to help growth that makes money.
Key Responsibilities:
- Make sure that Group Financial’s policies and processes for budgeting, accounting, credit control, and payroll are followed, and take responsibility for any problems that come up
- Helps make and oversees the making of different financial records and reports.
- Directs the upkeep of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, income distribution, depreciation, cost, property, operating costs, inter-company reconciliation, and insurance records.
- Drive the credit control function in the BU, working with the Group Credit Controller and the local Credit Controller to minimize write-offs, avoid problems with customers, and cut down on bad debts.
- Engage with Class A customers to make sure your relationship with them is legal and rewarding.
- Take care of contacts with local banks, make sure Treasury Operations and Cash are running smoothly, and keep a close eye on net currency exposure.
- Makes statements and reports about expected costs and income for the future. • Help with internal audits that look at financial and management controls.
- Coordinates the preparation of materials for external audits and financial reporting to the outside world.
- Make sure that taxes are paid and that corrective steps are taken after tax assessments. Also, make sure that taxes are optimized for the benefit of the affiliate or the Group as a whole.
- Find and develop talent and build a team by sharing information, rotating roles, and training.
- Ability to delegate tasks and goals, but with tight control and supervision to make sure they are done on time and meet RFT expectations.
- Be a real business partner by tying together all the tasks to reach the same goals.
- Work with area lawyers and the Group General Counsel to coordinate and lead legal cases.
Knowledge and experience
- Experience in the same kind of job in developing countries.
- Worked for a company with a world reach.
- Have managed a big finance team (more than 15 FTE)
- IFRS and the best ways to handle and report money
- A strong technical leader who can work both at a strategy and an operational level
- Finance is important to me as a business partner to help the business grow in a way that makes money.
