Leeds Business School Accounting and Finance Scholarship 2023/24
Excellent individuals are invited to submit applications to the Accounting and Finance Department for four fully supported scholarship opportunities beginning with the school year 2023–2024.
Scholarship Description

Both domestic and international applicants may enter this competition. There will be four scholarships given out.
2023 UNIVERSITY OF REGINA SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Timeframe for the Award
(3.5 years) full-time. Subject to satisfactory academic progress, the award will be given for one year in the beginning and renewable for an additional period of up to two and a half years.
Funding
- The grant will pay the entire cost of tuition at Leeds University’s normal rate.
- A maintenance grant for the usual UKRI amount (£17,668 in Session 2022–23).
Other Circumstances
- Applicants cannot already hold a Ph.D. degree or be enrolled in doctoral coursework.
- Awards must be accepted before October 1, 2023.
- New Postgraduate Researchers who are pursuing full- or part-time Ph.D. research studies are eligible for the prizes. Students who have already signed up for a Ph.D. research program are not eligible to apply.
- While receiving this scholarship, applicants must reside within a reasonable driving distance of the University of Leeds.

Entry Prerequisites
Candidates should ideally have a first-class undergraduate degree, or at the least, a respectable upper second-class degree. Candidates should possess a British Master’s degree (or a degree of equal standing from a foreign institution) or a comparable professional qualification:
- The master’s degree must be at least 70 (or it’s equivalent from a non-UK university) although outstanding applicants with scores of 65 and higher will also be taken into consideration. The academic field must also be relevant.
English Language Proficiency needed
For all research degree programs, candidates whose first language is not English must successfully complete an approved English language test. Below is a list of the approved tests and the minimum required results. Please be aware that test results are only good for two years.

- Academic IELTS has a minimum of 7.0 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in each section.
- iBT TOEFL With the following minimum scores needed in each of these categories, we require an overall exam score of 100: Speaking 23, Listening 21, Reading 21, and Writing 22.
How to Apply?
- First, submit a study application form to request a research location for the study. If English is not your first language, you must still satisfy our standards for Ph.D. candidates, including the English language requirements.
- Second, prior to receiving a scholarship, applicants must go through two interviews and evaluations by a minimum of four academic staff members. At least two of the CASIF directors are included in the initial round of interviews. Members of the supervisory team conduct the second round of interviews if it is decided that the candidate should advance.
- However, before the application deadline, exceptional candidates may be given an Accounting and Finance Department Scholarship.
- Lastly, you must show proof that you meet the Faculty’s basic English language requirements if English is not your first language.
