San Jose University International Spartan Scholarship (USA) 2023–2024

Description of the scholarship:

The first-ever Global Spartan Scholarship was created by the ISSS (International Student and Scholar Services) in the fall of 2020 with the intention of recognizing and assisting international students who are enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs.

Candidates must have exemplary academic performance, leadership skills, a strong commitment to globalization/international education, and financial needs in order to be considered for this fellowship.

An exciting and varied academic experience is provided to international students at San Jose State University (SJSU). Benefits of the scholarship

Awards: For the academic year 2023–2024, scholarships will be given to both current and incoming new international students. The number and value of the available scholarships have not yet been determined, and they will be awarded twice a year, once in the fall and once in the spring.

Eligibility

• The spring of 2024 will decide scholarship eligibility based on the GPA from the fall of 2023. Applicants who have already received the Global Spartan Scholarship are not eligible.
• Apply as a current SJSU student if you are presently enrolled in classes at the university.
• Apply as a new SJSU student if you have recently applied or been admitted to the university.
• All overseas students of any nationality are eligible for this award.
• The selection process is based on a thorough and all-encompassing evaluation of the applicant’s documents, which may include written essays, test results, a GPA, and other documentation of academic performance.

Applicants:

The following requirements must be met in order to apply:

• You must be a fully matriculated student in F-1 status.
• You must maintain legal F-1 status. 3
• You must be enrolled full-time at SJSU, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 for graduate students and 3.3 for undergraduates. 4
• You must have completed at least one semester there at the time of application.
• You must be an active student at SJSU for the upcoming academic year.

Application Process:

The application window will be open from March 20 to April 24, 2023. Applications that are received after the deadline or that are not complete will not be reviewed.

• Log on to the Spartan Scholarships site at SJSU.
• Finish the “General Application” before continuing.
• Submit an application for the Global Spartan Scholarship and any other SJSU scholarships you may be qualified for. *If spring 2024 is your final semester, or if you are simultaneously enrolled at another institution, you must be enrolled in at least 7 units.
