Job Description
WASCAL wants people to apply for the job of IT Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, prepare, and take care of Windows servers, workstations, and other network devices.
- Do system administration jobs, such as managing users, setting up security, and monitoring the system.
- Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other core Windows infrastructure services need to be managed and fixed when they go wrong.
- To make sure the system is running at its best, keep an eye on its speed, look for bottlenecks, and make the most of its resources.
- To protect data and systems, you should set up and handle system backups, disaster recovery plans, and security measures.
- Respond to and solve user support questions about Windows systems, applications, and network connectivity.
- Fix problems with hardware and software and work with vendors to fix and maintain equipment.
- Keep up with the latest Windows changes, patches, and security holes, and fix them when you need to.
- Strong cooperation with the Data Management Department to make sure that all of the IT resources of the company are managed in the same way.
- Plan and carry out system upgrades, migrations, and new deployments with the help of other teams and partners.
- System configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps should be written down for future reference and to share knowledge.
- Any other jobs that could be given.
Skills or Experience Needed
- At least a bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field, or an equal amount of work experience. Master’s degree will be a benefit.
- Proven work as a system administrator or IT officer in a Windows environment for at least two years.
- Strong understanding of Windows Server operating systems (like Windows Server 2016/2019) and Windows client operating systems (like Windows 10).
It will be helpful if you know a lot about the Linux and Ubuntu running systems. - Good understanding of Content Management Systems (CMS) for building, maintaining, and supporting websites.
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other important Windows system services with ease.
- Virtualization tools like VMware, Hyper-V, and VirtualBox.
- Experience with backup and restore tools, anti-virus software, and tools for keeping an eye on the system.
- Solid knowledge of networking ideas, standards, security measures, and how to fix problems.
- Strong problem-solving and analysis skills, as well as the ability to figure out what’s wrong and fix it.
- Excellent conversation and people skills are needed to work with users and work as a team.
