POSITION: Senior Analytics Engineer

Job Description

We need a Senior Analytics Engineer to work in a matrix organization. You will be in charge of the analytics datasets and pipelines for a particular product domain and will work with your cross-functional partners to improve our understanding of the area.

It is a job that can be done from anywhere in the UTC -1/UTC+3 time zone. You’ll report to the person in charge of analytics.

Responsibilities

  • You and your cross-functional partners will come up with the key measures for the product area. How do we know if we’re doing well?
  • You will make easy-to-understand datasets with uniform modeling for metrics, dashboards, and exploratory analysis.
  • You will build semantic models in Looker, make dashboards, and teach people how to use our platform’s self-service features.
  • Working with software engineers, you will make sure that our systems have all the data we need for research.
  • In the dbt + Airflow infrastructure, you will mostly use SQL and Python to build data transformation processes.
  • During this process, you will use best practices to build data assets that are reliable, well-tested, efficient, and well-documented.

Requirements

  • You will have worked with dimensional data modeling for analytics, data warehouses, and big data networks.
  • SQL skills at a high level (any dialect)
  • Learn how to code in Python, Java, or another language.
  • 5 or more years of working with SQL
  • 3 or more years of working with tools for data warehouses
  • 3 or more years of experience using BI tools like Looker or Tableau
  • 2 or more years of experience dealing with a change tool like dbt
  • Working with orchestration tools like airflow is a plus.
  • A technical degree is helpful, but not necessary.
