Job Title: Territory Manager, Ghana

Role Purpose

Maximize BCS’s presence and market share in the middle and long term.

Duties and Tasks

  • Developing private market and Tender business expansion by promoting sales of BCS portfolio to increase our market share.
  • Helping the person in charge of the Africa business venture define and carry out the Ghana strategy. Be the link between the Africa Venture Lead, the Ghana team, and external partners/customers in Ghana for the new business model project operations pilot. This will make sure that the project goes smoothly and is a success.
  • Making a full marketing plan for the portfolio that targets the Sahelian and tropical crops segments.
  • Taking care of the development of BCS Seeds solutions to ensure that the CP and seeds businesses work well together.
  • Setting up the annual budget with the Country Commercial Lead for West Central Africa and the Africa Business Venture Lead
  • Improving the image of the BCS portfolio on the market by adapting crop action plans so that they reflect regional strategy.
  • Making a strategy and stakeholder map for the country. Keep in touch with the right authorities, producer groups, agriculture stakeholders, and development agencies on a regular basis. Create and keep track of a database of stakeholders.

Value Added

  • Working with channel partners to manage and market the sales and distribution of BCS products.
  • Work with the Marketing Team to come up with ways to grow business on the private market so that BCS doesn’t have to rely so much on business contracts in Ghana. This is in line with the Ghana strategy.
  • Give sales estimates for the BCS business based on what you know about the market and how it works.
  • Get the word out about BCS solutions to make sure that the brand is known and stays in place with local distribution chains, commercial farms, and other government and non-government projects.
  • Choose local distributors who can sell and market BCS products well so that management can consider them.
  • Take care of the relationships between local distributors and BCS at different levels, making sure that the Bayer Compliance Policy is always followed.
  • Take care of Direct orders to the BCS supply chain to make sure products get there on time.
  • Look at the market regularly with management, marketing, and regulatory colleagues to find gaps that need to be filled.
  • Keep track of clients’ orders, price lists, and risk situations, and be in charge of them.
  • Follow up with the credit management department about payments
  • Make a quantitative and qualitative business report every month and a dashboard with the controlling department.

Skills, qualifications, and skills

  • Degree from a college or higher in agriculture
  • A good understanding of the market and the business
  • You should be able to speak English and French well.
  • Interest for digital overall and digital farming
  • Ability to be an entrepreneur and sensitivity to business models that are changing
  • Thinking that is analytical and strategic
  • Planning & reporting skills
  • Management skills
  • Thinking about the future and the future of the company
